F8X Sweet Spot - What makes you say "Holy sh*t!"?
We all know our cars struggle with grip from knot-60.. launch control is great! But some (not i) have reported being thrown into a curb!
The other day i put it in sport+ / D3 and was going about 50 on the FWY and stomped on the gas and it really threw me back! It was the first time this car really made me say "holy shit" out loud! What about you all? Whats your experience ? What makes you say "WOW"

wow moments:
1) walking up to it in the garage every morning 2) doing a perfect 2nd to 3rd shift on the 6sp 3) cold start with M performance exhaust 4) turning while accelerating and controlling the rear as it slides just a little |

If you're experienced and on open roads without traffic, you have no idea how powerful the car is until DSC is turned completely off.
MDM is a fucking joke. |

Driving 70 MPH, a downshift into 3rd and go. BM3, of course, helps the wow factor. Or... Flooring the gas at 35 MPH in 2nd gear and feeling the wow to redline, all the-while looking in the rear-view and seeing rubber beautifully planted onto the pavement.

When you’re driving in first gear in SPORT , accelerate hard and then letting it off and making the exhaust go “Pop pop pop”

Cold start on MPE
S3 sport + downshift burbles Just love the fact that I don't need music anymore to keep my ears occupied. Exhaust is enough I am VERY cautious about using MDM. Still only driving with full DSC. Will attend car control clinic and then experiment |

As a clarifier, I don’t agree with hooning and drifting on public roads. But if the rear steps out a little during a wide turn... I hold the slide for just a bit. Can’t resist.
BMWCCA organizes great clinics and track days. Would recommend. Also a good community. |
