2 - Random post...

This is my first BMW and M3.

1) This weekend driving 95 south this very short hair woman dark glasses crew cut on my ass with her new CR-V in moderate traffic. I'm doing 80 mph. She gets on my ass and is high beaming me.

I get out her way the traffic slows dramatically now I pass her normally.
She gives me the middle finger and the small penis sign.

I open the sunroof and give her the make it rain strip club gesture...

2) Day 2; Dude in Camaro sees me and starts hauling ass on Merit Park south right before you reach Port Chester. It a down hill sweeping two lane blind corner. Again; traffic slows dramatically. He locks up the brakes skids an easy 25+/- feet. Stops just shy of destroying the car in front of him. It was so much smoke looked like a burn out...

People are crazy...

I'd like to know more about the make it rain gesture. Unfamiliar with that one. Yes, I have google and the internet, so if I am seriously curious, I can surely find out. The day 2 thing I don't think had anything to do with you or your car. That curve is legendary for being underestimated. There are like 20 huge yellow arrows there.

The woman in the CRV? Who knows? I doubt is was you personally. Her ex girlfriend probably drove an M3.

It's like swiping dollar bills from the palm of your hand like a card dealer; I made it up... I don't even know the last time I've been to a strip club; has to be over 23 years... I don't know, but it was annoying as F-CK I'm not an aggressive driver and I don't get road rage so I don't know what her deal was. I'm gonna leave it alone...

I would have no idea what that meant if I saw someone do it. Maybe that's effective because it would drive the other driver crazy wondering what it means. Sucks that it requires 2 hands while driving though.

Funny you say this; I'm a longtime M owner, but my F82 is the first brightly-colored one (I have Sakhir). With everything before this, I never had an issue with aggressive drivers doing stupid stuff. In the six months since I've owned this one, I haven't gone three days without someone acting like a punk (brake-checking me, flashing lights, dangerous tailgating, swerving in front/cutting me off, etc) or trying to race. I'm becoming convinced it's the color.

I was on the turnpike a month or so ago, and had a guy in a Honda Element flash the lights at me while I was doing a bit over the speed limit in the right-hand lane with the cruise on. Dude went around me doing triple digits after giving me the one-finger salute for absolutely no reason. I caught up to him less than ten miles later, and he was doing ten under. He did the exact same thing again after I passed him (using my indicator), only this time he was pulled over by a state trooper when I caught up to him in like five miles.

Just yesterday afternoon, I was stopped at the lights in a residential area. Guy in a Nissan Juke pulled up next to me, dropped the window, and asked to race. I was like, "does that thing have a GT-R engine in it or something?" Revs the engine and chirps the tires as the light goes green, and was inches from hitting the guy in front of him.

I had a SO F82 for 3 years and have had an SO F83 now for the past year. I have seen plenty of aggressive and stupid drivers. As noted above they are everywhere. However, I have never thought any stupid shit done by other people had anything to do with the model or color of my car. You guys are either doing something to set these people off (I hear there is a newly discovered blind spot on F80s...) or you are overanalyzing why some people are assholes.

This car brings out the worst in people, whenever I drive my wife's SUV its all calm and quiet and no one is an ass, then I drive my car and people cut me off, speed up behind me, brake check me in the passing lane, give me the middle finger for no reason, piece of shit cars try to race me at every light

I agree. I've never had anyone do anything foolish that I can recall while driving my M3. If anything I've had a few folks pace me and give me a thumbs up when I looked over. I've had Alpine White, Azurite Black and now San Marino Blue and nothing out of the ordinary has happened. Be safe out there guys!

Oh, I've definitely had people give me a thumbs-up/other dap at the lights as well, in both this car and my other M cars. Just kind of interesting that I've had next to zero negative stuff with all colors other than Sakhir while living in the same place.

I'm an ER doc, so I see a ton of bad road trauma - everything from crashes to road rage shootings - and I never (intentionally) do anything that would anger other drivers. Have the full compliment of blind spot monitors/driver assists to avoid this nonsense. No matter what the reason, makes no sense to drive angry.

It's been 20 years since I drove in the Tri-State area daily, but I have family in Fairfield and Westchester County, so I'm there a few times a year. Up here in Albany, NY most people are doing everything in their cars BUT driving (texting, applying makeup, even saw a guy reading a book doing 65 mph on I-87), so I doubt anyone notices my M car, or any other cars for that matter.

But on I-95 or the Merritt/Hutch, it's a white knuckle, bumper to bumper at 85 mph (think Bristol Motor Speedway) to not get run over, so I can see how blood can get boiled. Those roads are not for the faint of heart in 2019. I'm surprised someone doesn't get killed on the Merritt daily.
