Not too tricky, more of a faff getting the old tape off to be honest. Fitting was a ok expect that when trying to peel the cover off the tape when it was pressed to the boot lid meant it was trying to pull the tape off the spoiler as it is a tight fit! But all is good and it's definitely not going anywhere

I'd say the quality is good. A few small imperfections if you look closely but not enough to upset me, I'm loving how it changes the rear end

What size spacers you got on Ade?

Car looks mean as hell.

Yep looks awesome! You may well have just cost me more pennies. Out of interest if you switch a spoiler for a spoiler then surely that doesn't count as a mod?

Was gonna go 12mm all round personally.

Lol sorry about that I doubt insurance companies would see it like that. I've declared it anyway to be sure

Sorry for the 100 questions but did you declare the spacers too?

Yes, although the person I spoke with didn't seem to understand much of what I was telling her. I'll double check my policy details now as I can't remember seeing them.

That is one 'ell of a looker, now. That rear of yours is coming along nicely.

Nothing wrong with being dirty every now and again

Why thank you for noticing, I have been working out... Oh wait you mean the car

I've said for many years that "dirty" can right a lot of wrongs

I've got a price for a plastic equivalent, the guys are telling me it should be bonded rather than taped. Ade, are you having any issues just using the tape? Cheers

Nope its seems to be really "on there" I've checked really hard and it's not moving at all. The std one was just taped on and the Mperformance ones are just taped on too, so I'm not sure why it would need to be bonded?

Don't skimp on the tape and all should be fine. Ive got a load of the proper 3M super tough stuff left (cost me £25 for the roll!!) so if you wanted some at a good price.....

I have taped a few on now and they will not go anywhere with the right tape.

I used 3M Automotive Acrylic Plus Attachment Tape #06382

Yep that's what I've used. 80319 I think was the part number.

It certainly doesn't feel like it's going anywhere in a hurry, at least not without the car attached to it

I've ordered a spoiler from Stratstone Derby and it comes with 'fittings/adhesive'. Would that be 3M tape?

Also, how did you remove the original? What did you use etc?

Thanks

As far as I know yes they come with 3M tape.

As for fitting it is as per this video.

Quite straight forward to be honest.

Piece of pi$$, not. Last time I removed a spoiler I ended up with a load of old tape which took ages to remove (hours).

It really wasn't too bad at all. Using that exact method the old one was off in about 5-10 mins. About another 15 minutes to remove the old tape and clean up the area. Then about 20minute apply tape to the new spoiler and line it up put markers on etc

Really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be at all.

Would vodka help remove old tape without damaging paintwork?
