I am currently running the CAE.
I ordered a Rogue Engineering SSK about 3 months ago. They still haven't started on it. They said they're moving shops. But since then it's literally been silence. I cancelled the order. I'll maybe give it another go once they get settled into their new place. I was currently in talks with Auto Solutions but I just got a PM from a forum member warning me about how their F80 SSK was a very very bad. So I'll avoid them. Not sure about the issues that people have had with UUC. Mine is perfectly fine. So I may put that in again. |

I just installed my UUC SSK. The install wasnt bad, the hardest part is getting the rubber boot out of the tunnel and pulling it through the cabin.
The shifts are much shorter, as well as more crisp. There is a little play in the shifter, but much less than stock. The knob is centered left to right, but it is a little bit futher forward than the OEM shifter (which I dont mind and quickly get used to). There is a much more mechanical feel to the shifts which I definitely like. Overall I am happy with the UUC.

Anything wrong with the CAE shifter you're currently running?

I go back and forth. Right now I always roll with the windows down, so it doesn't annoy me. But I'm sure I'll be annoyed when winter comes around. |

Need quick help
I went to get the shift knob changed with a custom knob and installer could not take off the stock shifter, he says its not coming off maybe the way its been sitting on the UUC SSK, any idea why this is happening and how to take off the stock knob? Other issue is that after this incident i am getting back the metallic sounds , had the installer tighten the locking nut and it still happens. Am so pissed now !!

Just installed UUC shift kit.
I was planning on doing a write up. Pretty simple task, a lot easier with a lift. The shifter is centered, smooth shifts, no noise or difficulty to use. 1 of my favorite mods for manual transmissions. Any questions on install, ask and I'll answer best I can |

Did you install the m perf shifter during the UUC SSK shifter install or later, if later did you find it hard to take off the stock shifter as I posted before ? |

My shift knob is much harder to get off with the UUC SSK, but you just have to work at it.

For myself, I always have found shifters to be a little difficult to remove. I pull the boot back a bit and use a small plastic head hammer that I acquired to assist in the removal. |

Secondly do you need loosen the locking nut which is used for height adjustment before pulling the shifter knob. How to get rid of the metallic noise for every shift, UUC says tighten the locking nut and I had the installer do that yesterday but still getting these irritating noise on every shifts Last edited by boss2k; 08-25-2018 at 01:14 PM.. |

Hey all - I know this is an old thread, but hoping to revive because I’m looking for some advice. My UUC Evo3 shifter was installed by a shop. Their work has always been high quality. It’s centered and looks good, but it seems that there is some rotation. For instance I can turn the knob about 30 degrees clockwise and counter clockwise. Is this typical? Note that I still have a stock knob.
