CA state Referee ticket

Cop gave me loud exhaust ticket and only go to state referee.

Anyone else just go to the court and pay the fine? I heard its like 700 bucks.

Heard some great advise to show up to court in a suit and pay the fine and move on.

Anyone else just pay it?

At least you didn’t get caught street racing bro lol .
Shouldn’t be that hard just swap the stock one back on and get it cleared.
And from my knowledge you cannot just pay off a state ref ticket.

That is not good to hear. Where did you get nabbed?

Also, according to his signature, he is running a stock MPE. So, how is he going to swap to a stock exhaust?

Hopefully, everything works out and all you lose is a bit of time and a small headache.

Hey Morgan, I got nabbed on H st coming down from eastlake towards otay lakes road.

I was in sport plus and the pops were really loud. I should have just kept it in efficient mode I had it coming not like I was just driving.

Ive already contacted the attorneys at Fyourticket and ticketdismisers like others have recommended.

Is it just an MPE exhaust stock downpipe ?
Could you not simply unplug the valves in the closed position and go to state ref and get it cleared? Then keep the paperwork if you're ever pulled over again to prove it's within the legal Db limits

So, I took a morning drive today up H St., Otay Lakes Rd./Telegraph and Olympic Pkwy looking for some activity and all I saw was CHP coming west on Otay Lakes Rd from the lakes. All was quiet, but they are sneaky wabbits.

@papsmurf_m3 Let us know how it turns out, what was the final outcome and any recommendations for others.

What's up Marvin, it's Harold. It's not nearly as bad out here as it was 15-17 years ago. I got popped in my dsm on eastlake parkway back in the day just driving normally. It looked completely stock but was modded. I just paid the fine which was $4-500 back then.

Got state reffed in my old boosted AP2. Paid the bail amount which was like $550? I believe. I did tell a couple white lies about how I tried to fix it, but it didn't pass. If you really do have an MPE just leave it in efficient and go to the state ref and explain its a stock exhaust.

Should pass just fine.

I just hired ticketdimissers to fight it. Says it can take up to 5-7 months.

I'm on cat-less downpipes & mid pipe so I dunno o of o go for decibel if they may say something about that and hit me with gross polluter like others.

Idk what to do so I hired a lawyer, besides missing work is not worth it to me.

I'll keep you guys posted of the outcome. Thank

Guess I'm sticking to telegraph or Olympic now.

The cop said too many complaints of noisy cars.

The police love to sit at the entrance to the school facing eastbound, nabbing all the cars going through the residential 35mph. Plus H street is full of permanent radar signs, ick. If I have to go toward 805, I will choose Telegraph or Olympic because there are less lights and the speed limit is higher. Plus, you do not have to deal with all the Costco traffic.

From ticketdimissers? Nope they said it can take 5-7 months and they are going to try to get it dismissed but worst case I'll have to pay the fine and court costs.

At least I won't have to take time off work to go to court.

Also said not to mention you're fighting it if you get pulled over.

Idk gotta check with them kinda vague responses tbh but they come recommended.

Hey man! I had the exact same ticket. When I went to the state ref they did the following:
1) visual inspection. They didn't touch anything, they just popped the hood, took a look around, then checked under the car for the cat. They DID NOT check for a tune or care about my check engine light, roll cage, stripped interior, etc. literally only looked for modified intakes and the cat.
2) decibel test: this guy was pretty lenient, I was at 95 and he told me I must be over revving the car, so I brought it down a hair and he gave me the green light.
I did not try the bail fine only because apparently if I got a repeat ticket it doubles or something wild like that. Would love to hear how the ticket dismisser route goes cause this was a pain in the butt.
For reference, this was for a ticket which only had loud exhaust, it did not ask the state ref to check smog.

Hey 👋 bro, I'm glad I didn't go the route of going there than. Money well spent on lawyer. He's gonna try to get us dismissed because it's a bs ticket. Glad it worked out for you.

Gotta quit the burbles, I turned that off a while ago, and am very happy to have done so.
