Clutch Shudder
Has anyone experienced this? The clutch slips and causes a jerking feeling on take off. Gets worse when it is warm. The symptoms go away with increased revs, around 1.2k RPM or so. Wondering if it is a potential clutch/flywheel failure. Or if the previous owner was just awful at driving MT. Picked up the car with 12k, currently has 14.8k.
Don't need lessons on how to drive MT. It's not related to driving style. |

Did you check out some of the other threads related to the "shudder"?
Here is one: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1065885 Yours sounds like it may be a little different than what others have described. Does it happen when you are in gear or when disengaging? |

I know this sounds stupid, and may not apply to your situation, but tire pressure makes a big difference in clutch feel or at least it does on my car. I was really surprised at the difference a few lbs of pressure makes, when low it legitimately feels like something is wrong w/the clutch that immediately goes away when corrected.
Again, may not apply to most scenarios but worth a check for others that may stumble across this thread. |
