That short wheelbase made my m2 jittery and a chore at higher speeds. I had an m235i and had hoped the m2 was even better. I honestly thought the m235i was a much better overall car. The interior on the m2 was kinda rough. The basketball leather was bad. I was completely underwhelmed by the car. It wasnt as lively as the 235, and obviously way slower than my m5 before. It was neither more fun, faster, better, or more comfortable. The second I got into my m3, I knew the m2 was staying at the dealership
Just my .02. According to the blogs and mags, I'm the only person in the world who couldnt wait to unload my m2 |

I once drove an OG M2 and I really enjoyed it. The car was DCT. Honestly, the M2 seems like a more natural fit for the 6 speed manual than the M3/M4. If I didn't want four doors at the time of my M3 purchase I would have strongly considered an M2.

I liked the M2 I test drove. It was a 6 speed and sounded great. With a couple bolt ons I'm sure you can make an M2 as fast as an S55 car. My problem with the M2 is they cut a lot of good things out of it that you get in an M3/M4... you would expect some weight savings. That and the styling is weird... the m2 has a shorter wheelbase than the M4 but sits an inch higher.
