Help! I'm going to potentially buy an F83

This weekend I'm going to go look at a '15 bmw m4 convertible, it has the m performance exhaust system with the carbon tips. BUT I looked at the window sticker and I don't think it has the competition package (ZCP). So my main question is will it still have burbles/pops even if it's not a ZCP? Please let me know!!!

ZCP didn’t exist in 2015.

Just google M performance exhaust or search this forum.

I don’t remember whether it was introduced mid 2016 MY or later, but if it’s not on the window sticker, it doesn’t have it.

The M Performance exhaust has nothing to do with the ZCP package, as it was a standalone accessory/option, meaning it didn't come with the ZCP package. It is something you could order with the car as an option, in which case it would show up on the MSRP label, or you could purchase and have it installed after delivery, in which case it does not show on the MSRP label.

The ZCP exhaust was totally different than the M Performance exhaust, and is very close in sound to the non-ZCP exhaust, except for cold start and idle, where it is louder.

The burbles and pops don't come from the MPE, it comes from the tune. I had a Non-ZCP with the MPE and it did not burble and pop. It did, however, still sound very good.

ZCP was available to order in February 2016, the same month that I placed the order for my M4, about two weeks after I placed my order. I had time to change my order but didn't. I now regret not ordering it, but it was too new at that time, I didn't like the 666 wheels, which only came in silver at the time, didn't like the seats, which turned out to not be a big deal. Instead I got the MPE, which I later regretted. Given the choices again, I would have ordered the ZCP and not the MPE. My wife has a 2018 M3 ZCP and IMHO, the stock on the ZCP exhaust is way better than the non-ZCP with an MPE. YMMV.

A non-ZCP with an MPE will still burble and pop, but not as satisfyingly as a stock ZCP. And it's not nearly as annoying (read LOUD) on cold start-up.

Mine does, but not as well as a stock ZCP.

The stock ZCP is not nearly as loud as a non-ZCP with MPE on cold start-up. I have one of each in my garage.

ZCP tune makes a slight difference nothing like bm3 can't fix otherwise still worth it 100x better than stock exhaust over all.

It's been a year since I had it but I don't remember it being significant. Maybe a hint burble, but certainly not very distinct and noticeable as in the ZCP and CS.

1. I have 2016 stock exhaust. It uses a valve that opens and closes. Can disconect electrics and tie open with zip ties for louder sound.

2. MHD tune can add burbles and farts ("this demographic of M3/M4 owners is different than prior generations" and despite being from a prior generation, I added that as part of my tune and I think it sounds great (59 going on 12).

3. No comp pack for 15 as stated
