Posted this a while ago but someone should just make something like this:

Very unimaginative and arguably hard to distinguish from a M8, but still worlds better than stock and still uses BMW’s current design language so it’s not a break neck transition like some of the other concepts I’ve seen

I agree - for nobody to introduce a new front end with “proportional” kidney grill is a sign that BMW will not like that and may impact future dealings with them.

Agreed, the snout is only part of the problem. There’s no aftermarket solution than can remedy the position of the character lines on the side profile and the lower line of the greenhouse. Cliché, but it is only Lipstick on a pig.

It's only part of the problem, but if it wasn't for the front end, most people would not have a problem with the car's looks at all. Or maybe the front end is so bad that it distracts them from the rest of the car.

The rear with the Soyuz MPE rocket nozzles is brutal.

Hm.

It looks better but I don't really like how boxy it is. Then again, I am not fond of any of those G-Wagon type cars either so, it is probably just my personal taste.

That’s funny, one of the things I hate about the G wagon design is the round headlights. Box everything else but that, it looks really out of place to me.

Not sure why I like that pic, it does look cohesive for once and it fits for me for some reason. I can at least see what they were going for with that design.

The M4 would still be a hard pass even if grill was fixed as the rest of the design and proportions are just so anti-BMW.

The M3 from A-pillar back is not a bad design. It can be an attractive car with a normalized front end.

Been perusing German BMW forums.

The G20 forum has got a 180-page thread on just over-the-air updates - some people are going crazy over not getting notifications on their BMW App for a new update.

I'm quite surprised how quickly people have gotten accustomed to these OTAs; it reminds me of waiting for the newest iOS to come out when I was in my teens.

But, on the other hand, there are 142 pages on how to get more burbles out of the M340i, so I'm guessing all is well in the world, still...

IDGAF about some software updates anymore, and probably wouldn't even use the BMW app, ever. But I'm damn sure they're gonna make them inevitable.

Exactly, baby M8 ftw.

Still doesn’t help the boring Lexus rear end but a nice help regardless.

Found this ironic Surround cams on but mans doing the good ol' over-the-shoulder look.

I never do this, tbh, using all two (or three when it is installed) mirrors is just fine.

I don't know, man, I've always found it very unnatural. And the years of driving vans did force me to rely on just mirrors.

But, to be fair, your US DOT side-view mirrors are horrible… Can't see a thing in them! It's, like, very zoomed in due to not being aspherical.

Little does he know that the real flex would have been the M leather driving gloves.

In my experience it has little to do with U.S. DOT, and more to do with how a manufacturer makes their mirrors. I've hated the mirrors on some cars and loved them on others (…ex..the F8X).

I'll give you that, though I've also driven back-to-back both Euro and US 135i E82s and I can say I still remember being surprised how much of a difference it was.

Found this comparison:
