Squeek

Car squeaks usually one time every 15 min trip when I take the car over a bump. I have Macht schnel springs and Turner Motorsport spacers, and the car never did the until recently. The only thing I have had done recently is PPF wrap and ceramic coating in which they removed the wheels to accomplish. It has happened in the morning 70-75F and later in the day 80+F. Thoughts?

Does it only happen once or does it continue to do it with longer drives? Can you better describe the noise? Is it always the same noise or can it be louder/quieter or a completely different noise? Does it only happen when the suspension is compressed? What about when you turn the steering wheel?

It only does it once. It’s like a “er-ehh”, lol.

It didn’t do it this morning in the cooler weather … not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Only happens when the suspension is compressed. Not during turning, or at least haven’t noticed. It has happened when cutting the wheel when avoiding a dip though.

I’d check the strut top mount. The underside bearing for the spring can become damaged and result in squeaking. However, this usually makes noise when the steering is turned. Also, check the single nut that holds the top of the strut piston rod. This can come loose but it usually makes noise in compression/bump and rebound/droop. I’d also take a look at the sway bar links to make sure they’re installed properly and if they are damaged.

So embarrassing but a relief… I just realized it was a metal grate they have on the street that makes noise when I drive over it! Lol

Thanks for your insight though… extremely helpful!
