You can enable the touch screen via coding on a 2018
2) CID_TOUCH: aktiv (Active) 3) CID_HMI_TOUCH: aktiv (Active)

Anyone else with a 2018 M4 tried this? Is this done thru the Headunit module in Bimmercode? It would be exciting to activate touchscreen even when Muscle memory at this point is set. 😬

My '16 M4 doesn't have a touchscreen but even if it did i wouldn't find myself using it at all mainly with how the screen is positioned its a full arms reach away. Compared to my Mom's '18 X3, the screen is much closer so it actually makes sense to have touchscreen

I also have an 18 M4 (F83) with touchscreen disabled...What "bimmercode" or what equipment do I need to turn it on?
Also I was able to default to surround view when going into reverse, but I just got it back from the shop and the dealer recoded the steering (replaced the steering motor/rack) and now it doesn't default anymore. I think I had "Park Asist" checked but am not sure at this time. Anyone in the STL area to help code or program? Thanks |

I am getting Bimmercode and have a '18 M4. What/how do I "activate" the touch screen? I assume I need to get into "expert mode" while in "headunit" but I don't know what to do after that... UH, I just re-read this post and I found the answer...
2) CID_TOUCH: aktiv (Active) 3) CID_HMI_TOUCH: aktiv (Active) Also I found a shop from the BMWCCA club meeting in Edwardsville IL. Cooper Autoworks, they will do stuff like this and specialize in "Rally racing"... Last edited by SoundQ2; 04-05-2023 at 01:16 PM.. Reason: re-read earlier post and needed to correct. |

Hey guys,
I just came to this thread because I bought myself an f82 M4 Competition and noticed there's no touch screen. So I did the coding with bimmercode and changed these values to active: (3005) CID_TOUCH > aktiv (300B) CID_HMI_TOUCH > aktiv After the reboot, I did get the 3 squares in the top left corner, but pressing the screen didn't do anything. Does this mean mine didn't come with a touchscreen, or am I doing something wrong? It's build date 26-06-2017, so probably a few days later they started fitting the touchscreens Last edited by PIR3lly; 05-21-2023 at 01:27 AM.. |

Honestly, I never touched my screen in my 17 M3 to ensure that touchscreen actually works. And to be honest, I absolutely hate finger prints on the glass. So, I guess I'll never know.

My 2017 M3 ZCP doesn't have a touch screen And I'm very happy it doesn't.
