Help with Crankshaft Code 160021

Hello,

I was driving earlier today and felt a sharp/sudden hesitation, lasted maybe a second - no lights or warnings in the idrive.

I pulled the codes and had 160021 Crankshaft sensor: general loss of synchronization.

Has anyone else had this issue?
Could it simply be a faulty sensor? If so any DIYs out there?

Thanks.

Car is stock, just downpipes and GTS tune.
Cleared the code have had no issues since
