Lowering Springs & Spacers on Stock Wheels/Tires
Hoping someone has some pictures/examples they can share!
I am looking at lowering & installing spacers on the stock wheels/tires. I attached an image of what it currently looks like. I’ve been hesitant on lowering it because the front spoiler already scrapes sometimes. Hoping someone can share some words of wisdom! |

As you can see from my photos, I'm lowered using EMD springs. And yes, I do have the occasional scrap, but I utilize Sliplo which is a sacrificial piece of rubber that mounts to the bottom of the front lip using 3M adhesive tape.
So my CF lip never actually touches anything, but the Sliplo does in the photo below. But what I think you need is a Height Adjustment Spring Kit, where you can dial in the amount of drop you want. With the EMD springs, the drop is already pre-determined. 1.3" front, 1.2" rear without utilizing the puck included in the kit. The puck is use to put more rack in the car, just like factory. But the drawl back is the suspension is stiffer the stock. I have never bottomed out over anything. But you tend to get bounce over the bumpy stuff, since the spring height has been reduced. So I usually keep the EDC on comfort, and the ride is tolerable. I did keep the OEM springs, just in case I want to convert back to stock.

This is actually SO helpful! I had no idea Sliplo was a thing.. adding it to my cart now. That should save the heart sinking to my stomach feeling if I do hear it scrape. Do you have spacers as well? Or just springs? |

Just springs only, spacers will not work for me especially since my rears are tucked up in the rear fenders. Very little room, and I have zero rubbing issues in the front or the rear.

Swift Spec-R Lowering Springs with Burger Motorsports Wheel Spacers – 15mm F, 12mm R.
A fantastic OEM+ approach in my opinion. More photos here: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...7#post30941297 |

Any chance for me to post some pics : )
This is my 2018 F80 Competition with Eibach v1 Euro spec lowering springs (front and rear), OEM 437M wheels 19x9 et29 front and 19x10 et40 rear with Michelin PSS 255/35-19 front and 285/35-19 rear, with 12mm spacers front and rear. Photos show car without and with replica MP style front lip: I've had the MP style front lip installed for a couple of weeks now, and so far it's only scraped the ground at one location which happens to be the same location where the stock rubber 'chin' guard piece would hit this particular road transition. Note that the rubber 'chin' guard piece is removed when installing a front lip, and that the lip does not hang down quite as far as the chin guard, yet the lip sticks out farther to the front, so it's a bit of a break-even scenario as far as your chances of hitting certain obstacles and road surface transitions.

You should be able to run a 10 mm spacer because my 11et42 frontspacing with 305/30-19 is 0.42” (not accounting for the wider tire) more aggressive than your 10et40 with 285/30-20. Here’s a pic with my tire tucked (not as tucked as yours but it can go thru the full range of bump motion without contacting anything) and my e46 M3 dedicated track car (more aggressive with no contact with increased tuck). Also, on the rear, the farther you tuck the greater the camber so it continues to tuck with increasing negative camber (not the front strut which has a poor camber curve).

MP HAS with MSW 15mm spacers.
I went with MP HAS because I hate the front rake and I also hate the tucked rear wheel that springs give you. The HAS kits allowed me to give it a nice flat stance to get rid of the front rake and avoid the rear wheel tuck. Added benefit is I get to keep my EDC. |

Macht Schnell Springs (front and rear)
12mm spacers all four corners. Stock ZCP tire sizes. In my opinion, perfect setup for 666M wheels.
