DCT struggle in 3rd gear and hesitate
hello guys
i am driving 2015 F80 m3 DCT and my problem is when i drive the car slowing down the transmission will stay in 3rd and if i left the throttle paddle it will stay in 3rd and hesitate like a manual car that happens to me every time i slow down to the traffic light and specially when the car is cold its like the car doesn't want to downshift until i press the brake or shift it down manually with the steering paddles the rpm goes below 1000 and still it wont shift down to 2nd or 1st gear Last edited by a7med606; 05-28-2016 at 05:30 PM.. Weird behaviour from the DCT is normal when the car is cold. If this happens after the car has been on for 30-60s then something is wrong and needs to go to dealer.

I'm having the exact same problem with my DCT! I know there known for bobbing back and forth upon cold start but in my daily drive I notice the car having difficulties shifting down when slowing causing the car to skip forward and back making it a little uncomfortable. I messed around with the rpm control button and it seems to handle it better but who wants to daily drive on the lowest setting??

i have the same problem with my dct too.
sometimes when i brake slowly because of a red light, there is a kick around 1100rpm in the third gear. After that the dct shifts down to the second gear. It feels like somebody crashes softly from behind the car. I have this problem only in the third gear around 1000-1200rpm and when it shifts down automatically. It doesnt matter, how long i drive the car before. during my last service, my dealer tried to teach the shift points. but this didnt help. an update to the newest istep level doesnt helped too. |

As does mine during a very slow deceleration, in sport or sport +. If you brake 'harder' the clutch just disengages without the kick for me. Doesn't seem to happen to me in efficient mode with either braking methid..
So I've just learned to downshift into second manually and problem solved. |

Was there any updates on this thread guys? I have noticed the same thing happen to my car occasionally. It does have the GTS transmission tune also.
Like others have stated above, it's only if you are coasting down to a stop slowly in third (3rd) gear and don't apply enough force to the brakes for the car to realise it needs to downshift from 3-2. If you try to accelerate at this point it gets even more jerky/clunky. Is there a known issue here or is it just another nuance? |
