Tire help
I’m looking to buy a set of tire within the Michelin brand that has the most stretch/rounded side wall I’m currently running Michelin pilot sport all season 4 and the side wall are very square in the rear with 255/35/19 and 285/30/20 on 763m I’m looking for a rounder side wall so I can go lower in the rear without scrapping my fender liner. So what’s the best model for that?

Tire stretch is a function of wheel width and tire section width (tread width is important but section width is usually more important for stretch). For a fixed 10” wide rear wheel, you can only go down in size to increase stretch (look for reduced section width for a given tire width). Tire category will have a small effect on stretch. Anything wider than a 285 will result in the opposite of stretched which is pinched due to a tire that’s too wide for a 10” wide rim. Not any real tire options, unless you reduce tire width, to increase stretch when you already have your wheel widths and offsets.
Increased rim width and proper offset are what allows for more stretch but too much stretch at some point ends up reducing performance and is done for looks/stance only. Are you running spacers and that’s resulting in rubbing/contact? If wheels are not changing then only a reduced width tire can increase your stretch. |

I am running spacer but the plan is to add another 5mm. But I can’t add anymore spacer without rubber in fact the 10mm spacer I have right now are rubbing if I lower the rear more to my desired ride height but I read up on some forums of people running 763m/cs rim that are getting away with 285 in the rear and 15mm spacer so that why I’m confused. Also on some images of the m4cs it seem that the rear from factor looks very stretched and some are not. That what confused me at the moment

Rear negative camber can be added to help with clearance issues. Also, just like any manufactured part, cars have tolerances and tolerance stack ups so no two cars are exactly the same. If you look at body shop frame/chassis/body repair manuals have tolerances of 0.0X” to 0.YZ”. F82/3 base, f82/3 C and f82 CS are all dimensionally the same but tolerances vary from car to car. F80 rear has slightly less clearance compared to the f82/3. A combined 15 mm spacer on 763Ms result in pretty aggressive offsets with a 285 tire.
