LCI Removed Headlight Washers, Why? Europe still had them.
Does anyone have any info why the F8X cars had the headlight washers removed for the NA market with the LCI changes? Many countries in Europe require them so assume all the Euro cars had them. Surprised BMW would have changed to have variations like that.
My M4 is going to Switzerland and I am opting not having them add them for now as they have a "work" around to get it imported and registered for the first 2 years. Not sure what I will do after that.

If you have LEDs, they are less than 2000 lumens and dont require washers. Washers came with certain option packages. My 2016 F80 was optioned with executive package and the headlight washers were included in that package. I have LED headlights. |

I had a pre-LCI with washers and now a LCI without washers. I like NOT having headlight washers because there’s no way to control them manually. It comes on at a set interval when you use windshield washer fluid and it’s annoying when you have a freshly washed car.

Have them on mine with adaptive lights but after LCI bmw removed them as not needed but also a cost saving hence some of the very last 2017 got them even without the xenon’s.

I have them on my 2017 M3 ZCP with the LED headlights. But honestly, I have never used them. They just end up splattering the whole front of the car with wiper fluid.

It’s not optional, it automatically comes on after every 3rd windshield washer activation. Unless you’re saying you found a way to code out/disable it.

If I recall correctly, BimmerLink or BimmerCode can code those to stay off, I did it on my old F10 535 because the headlight washers were pointless.
