With my 2018 F80 6MT in sport mode for the majority of the time and with a mix of highway and ‘suburban’ driving, I’m getting around 20.0 mpg calculated via Fuelly, while the average fuel economy readout in the car shows 19.8 mpg.

I have to be brutally honest, who really worries about fuel economy on a performance vehicle like the M3's and M4's Not me.......

27-31mpg on the highway around 70mph, slightly less when going above 80. 12-15 mpg in the city. Really surprised how efficient these cars are. A mix of spirited driving and highway, I'd say about 300-320 from a full tank. |

I just did a 700 miles trip in Europe with an average of 29,4 mpg with 100 octane fuel.
My best so far has been 33,5 mpg. I usually drive in sport mode, when standing in traffic on the highway I switch to comfort. I drive DCT in manual mode. I'm more than happy with the fuel economy! |

Fair. I only monitor mine as a diagnostic measure, i.e. if I see a drastic change in gas mileage without a notable change in driving habits or conditions, then there’s probable cause to investigate what could be going on with the engine.

I have the same mentality which makes me regret not getting a C63S sometimes but when gas prices go up to like 6+ dollars I am like “I am glad I don’t have a V8” LOL.

I truly understand that, as I had a W204 C63 in the past. I currently have a W211 E63 and a F85 X5M to keep my F80 M3 company. So, I'm buying a lot of gas

The only time I care about my fuel economy is when I drive to Tucson / San Diego from Austin a few times a year. Love the drive (and the 80 mph speed limit in west Texas) and I am thrilled to get 27 - 28.5 a gallon. 👍

I love the hyper mile people pushing almost 30 MPGs. It makes me happy knowing the vehicle could do it. My average is just under 14 with mixed driving. I did manage 24 on a SoCal to NorCal drive (on my comp, not CS).

It kind of becomes a game to hyper mile switching the cluster to instant fuel economy instead of the M displays hahah
