I am a big fan of BMW perf stuff, currently have the exhaust on my e92 335, at one time the slip on system was $1700-1800, I got mine for around $1000.....awesome discount and I absolutely love the sound but damn $1000 for a slip on muffler? That shits crazy....now 5k for a slip on system with a couple extra feet of pipe? That's ridiculous in my opinion. BMW tax or not I've owned 2 generations of m3's and paid to play, but that is just silly especially when the system should have came with the car in the first place.

So BMW sells you an "M-Performance Exhaust" as a seperate "accessory" on an "M" car? This is getting a bit too much.
MB offers their C63 AMG P31 with a bunch of added cosmetic and performance components AND A sports peformance exhaust. If my information is correct, it is actually made by Eisanmann. An OEM Performance Exhaust system should come with a true performance car. Come on BMW. If the F8X was loud enough and sounded fantastic fromthe get go than I wouldn't be complaining, but the fact that it sounds the way it does and on top of that they charge you a boatload to make it sound better than what it was is a bit much. Am I the only one who feels this way? |

if someone do not want to buy the exhaust for this price, this is fine. But I can not understand why so many post in this thread are about the price. I really looking forward for the first owner and the feedback about this exhaust.
For the information: In Germany we have to pay 4.300 Euro for the exhaust plus 856 Euro for the Titanium tips --> with the actual exchange rate 6.800 USD (but unfortunately everything is more expensive here) |

Anyone know if the CF tips (or Ti for that matter) would work on the stock exhaust?

The muffler looks like a toaster oven.

Sorry for the lack of response. I went past my dealer today to get a status update. They are expecting to receive the exhaust tomorrow. I swear it is the most painful wait getting everything organized for my car. I have my camera charged and will post pics up as soon as they receive the exhaust.

I assume that non OEM exhausts could give BMW an out to uphold any "related" warranty. And I also assume this new MPE would not invalidate the factory vehicle warranty.
This gives BMW some leverage when it comes to market pricing. |

Is it possible to have m pert parts included in your purchase deal, ie parts installed at the port?/vpc? Instead of having to go through parts dept the dealer. My prod week is 39 so have sometime to modify.

Turbo is the best silencer.....
Has anyone tried to go free-flow from cats. No silencers what so ever?
On my rallying Saab 99 Turbos I have nothing after the turbo just a stainless steel exhaust pipe. |
