I race in series overseas that use production cars, you are allowed to take certain things out, others have to stay. At the same time you add in weight with a cage etc. Also, the car has to comply to a minimum weight. If you are building a car for series like this it is extremely helpful to have a list of weight of all kinds of components. It may help you decide whether the car is going to work within the regulations etc. Previously when I have built rally cars I have documented the weight of everything that comes out of the car, down to things like sun visors, small plastic trim panels, seatbelts etc etc. It provides others with a great resource Thanks to the OP for putting this together. It is greatly appreciated |

I've added a couple more items.
Rogue Engineering 12mm and 15mm spacers plus their extended lug bolts. These are supposed to be some of if not THE lightest choice for our vehicles. The extended lug bolts are identical in weight to the Macht Schnell versions so they are probably the same part if I had to guess. The RE spacers are 22% lighter than the Macht Schnell variety. You can clearly see why when you look at them. There are additional large lightening holes on the spacers. |

I know you mentioned the hood is not heavy..but i wonder how much weight savings would be to go to a full CF one..there are already some out there..i am sure some pro ones will come out when more M3/4s are produced

Great thread.
So it sounds like the best route for maximum easy weight savings is: - CF roof - Remove back seat - Smaller battery Anything else that would be easy and very noticeable? Unfortunately I feel the car needs more weight on the rear for traction purposes. |

Great thread. I have a few items that would be a nice reduction. Interested on how much saved.
I'm concentrating on unsprung weight first. AP Racing Pro 5000R Radi-CAL BBS FI-R HRE (Ticore) Titanium wheels lugs Need to check the weight of Ohlins TTX46 & TTX36 I already have the full titanium AKRA. Weight savings is always and interesting way of modding, that has almost hidden payoffs.

IIRC, karussell weighed his M4 rear seats at ~40lb.

Seems like there's a lot of weight to be had in the exhaust as well. Burger tuning posted a 43lb weight loss using their exhaust over factory.

Does somebody have weight info for the stock under seat woofers (2?)and amp? Seems like a good opportunity to change to single woofer and move everything to the trunk to reduce weight and shift weight to the rear.
