I always run sport plus, s2. Been wringing its neck pretty good since 1200 mile service.
Daily commutes with some spirited accel, i am getting 16.9 mpg. Took two decent length trips to the beach (~300 miles each round trip) on interstate crusing tad over 80mph. Reset mpg each time. Averaged 26.2 mpg.

Does anyone calculate their MPG by filling up a full tank, and than zeroing the mileage counter, and filling up again and dividing the miles driven since last fill up/gallons filled the second time? I think that is a more accurate way of measuring real MPG vs trusting what the computer tells you.

Still on my first tank..... onboard computer says 4.4 kms/l which translates to 16.6kms per galon under mostly traffic jams, and just a few short spirited runs on a highway, my car has only 170kms (106 miles) on the odometer so far

1500 miles in, I drive in efficient mode most of the time. I'm averaging 20.3 mpg right now.

It's obvious that the car gets decent but not great mileage. Better than can be said about the E9x which was terrible. If it got great mileage it would be one of the most popular things posted. Yeah 20 to 25 is good for a performance car. Corvettes are known for their great highway mileage (7th gear anyone?) the F8x has a small tank (not unreasonably small) and decent mileage (good mileage) for its performance level and is a much better partner for long trips than the previous iteration. Is it a long distance GT car? Hell no.

I'm at around 20.5 mpg, still in break in. Tomorrow I take it in for break in service and after that, we'll see.

Picked mine up yesterday (approved used with big discount) and drove 200 miles home, mostly motorway.
Got 40.1mpg on the motorway with traffic and a few speed restriction zones and that dropped to 36.3 when i got into town and played around a bit. Staggered |

I am happily impressed so far. During our ED I was able to do several 650km stints on a single tank. This translates to about 8.6 l/100km or 26 us mpg. This is with the cruise set between 120 and 140km/h (depending on the highway stretch) and a few spirited passes .

Any new F8x owners on this thread who previously drove an E60 550i? Wonder what the MPG delta is like -- My '08 550i is my current DD but "planning" to go to M3 next year.
Thinking there will definitely be a little improvement, probably not as drastic were I coming from an E9X M3. I can get 25-26MPG on the hwy cruising with the 550i, but typically see more like 19-20 overall with a little fun in "sport" mode now and then. |

We've only had the car two weeks, but we made 2 short day trips out on country two lane roads as well as my daily work driving. I've made sure to fill up and measure mileage for each of the road trips and I have the start/stop disabled.
Daily driving - 19.4 mpg, suburban, 12 miles each way to work, lots of traffic lights with an average speed of probably 24-25 MPH, speed limit is 45. Road trips - 26.3 mpg, primarily two lane roads driving 55-75. |
