Alpine Pass Hyperlapse Videos
Hey folks! Just back from taking delivery of my new M4, and wanted to share a few videos we shot while enjoying the car. All of these videos were shot with an iPhone 6. The weather was amazing the first half of the trip and got more cloudy as things went along. I'll be posting a write-up of the whole trip for the time being I hope you enjoy seeing what these passes look like through the windshield of a 2016 M4. Enjoy!

This is soooo awesome thanks for doing this. I'm trying to make Grossglockner happen when I'm there in a few weeks, but could probably swap for Susten but can't make both happen time wise.
If you could only do one of those two which would you choose to drive again? Also I'm struggling to find good maps of where Grossglockner actually starts and ends. Did you go up and turn around and come back down the same way? |

Hey folks, thanks for the great feedback!
My favorite set was the Susten / Grimsel / Furka combo, all done in one morning. The weather had a lot to do with that as it was perfectly clear and relatively low on traffic throughout. I think Susten and Grimsel were the most beautiful by far. The most fun I had on the road itself was a tie between the Italian side of Stelvio and the Grossglockner. I came from the south through Heiligenblut and you basically head north to a point where there's a roundabout where you can either continue north or go up directly to the visitor's center at the glacier. You then back-track maybe a few kilometers back down to the roundabout and continue north. It's sort of tough to spot in the video because of the speed but if you watch for it you'll see me hit it. The most disappointing was the Dolomites... combo of bad weather and lots of traffic. Also Gotthard pass was interesting but kind of a pain as the road is cobbled so you're just bouncing down it. Makes for a great picture from the bottom though Last edited by dowdlemj; 08-20-2015 at 06:20 PM.. |
