Its like this, i didnt buy the stingray because i didnt like the M, i loved the M as a daily driver and looks/ class but i didnt get the real sports car feel like get in the stingray, i know its a different class of car but i wanted to try something different , sports convertible with V8 and stingray fitted the bill perfectly in my budget. Its my 1st sports car and want to have this experience, have been driving sports sedans since 2005 and got bit tired of it. Another reason i missed the moonroof badly and didnt care about the CF roof , there were many times i wished i had the moonroof instead.

I've said numerous times if I didn't need back seats, I'd definitely seriously look at a manual GS Vette. Enjoy and I hope the ownership experience is trouble free!

The GS is defintely the sweet spot of the lineup.

I would temper the review after several months of ownership, after the new car shine wears off. Not saying it will change, just saying it would be more nuanced. Pluses and minuses in everything, no absolutes. I find the M as more practical and livable for most of my driving needs, it is also very consistent in handling which is more than I can say for other cars I’ve had.

It is. I wonder how much of it has to do with the tires. Doesn't the GS come with r compounds?
The Amg GT-R spec tires vs z06 spec tires on the same car C and D tested raised the lateral g from 1.07 to 1.14 (also 10 mm wider front and rears) https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...y-the-numbers/

Had the 2014 Vette when it first came out lots of fun indeed. However my fellow vette owners where old men who hung out in parking lots on weekends. Get a life. My wife even made fun of me. Not a Hamptons car. Got a Z4 35is instead. Couldnt be happier. Love that convertible hard top. That said the vette was an exciting car, and i sure do miss that raw power. And yes a corvette beats M3 M4. You will never be king of 0-60 something will always be faster. Hell even a camaro now tops a vette. I dont know why corvettes aren't sold under the cadillac brand. A premium experiance for a premium car. Still a chevy with shit warranty. Hence the shit value after 3 years.
P.S. Love the mullet aarp comments.

https://www.caranddriver.com/features/g15336568/lightning-lap-times/ GS z07 pack was 1s off the pace of the gt3rs that was tested the same year (and is 2.5x cost of the vette) The jokes about image are fun, but if driver knows what they are doing, the latest vettes are track weapons. My understanding from speaking with owners at DEs is that the aero support works well and the stability control is non intrusive and definitely a helpful safety net when pushing hard. |

It's crazy how much opinions can differ...I'm polar opposite lol. I have a '17 Grand Sport and I'm to the point where I can't wait to get rid of it. I'm just bored of driving it. It's an M7 and sounds incredible, but it just doesn't excite me any more. I also had a '15 Stingray prior so that could be why it feels a bit stagnant too. With that said, I've been driving the same/similar car for about 4 years and ready for something new... I'm torn between the C63 and M4 ZCP right now, and cannot decide what I want. Both have their pros/cons. I've also been offered trade-in values about $8k less than what I owe on the vette so that's a deterrent too. I feel as though my vette ride is stiff as all hell, and every M4 I've test driven felt smooth as butter and much more refined same with the benz obviously. Also, your last point about the moonroof really hits home. It's nearly impossible to locate a ZCP car WITH a moonroof. The CF roof looks amazing, but I totally would miss the feel of having the targa. Some will say.. well just get the vert. I don't really care for appearance of verts in general, and I'd rather have the sunroof than a CF roof. How do you like the stingray so far? Do you miss anything about your M3? Regrets? |

Also love the M7 clutch and transmission, way better than the M3 in my opinion. I dont understand how you found the M4 suspension smooth and comfortable. No regrets at all except the 4 doors, however driving a sports car and sitting low is a different feeling and loving it |
