I have had bad luck with the other ways of connecting. Enet adapter always worked 100% of time. Thought my cables or car were acting up.

Both those posts are from me.
I was on 15.1 last night (not working), saw the posts this morning, updated to 15.2 and now adapter is fixed. BM3 instantly turned blue and connected after logging in.

so the "gigchem" adaptor started working? that's the one i have. I tried to flash today, but it wasn't connecting. Came on this thread to buy new adaptor, but if you're saying it's working after the update, then i am happy.

We've had success with a couple of non-MFI adapters that broke with iOS 15 after the iOS 15.2 update. If your old adapter worked before, try it again after updating.

Out of the 3 unofficial Apple adapter, two seems to work. Actually seeing the car connected. Now I don’t need the laptop to record.

Is the new multi map able to change from sag Stage 2 to stage 1 without grabbing the laptop again?

So I'm not sure that you can go "stage 1 to 2" and vice-versa on a multi-map unless you had a custom tune done. If you have the OTS multi map, you either have stage 1 OR stage 2.

You can switch maps within whichever stage you own with out a re-flash:

OTS map order is 1: 91ACN, 2: 91, 3: 93, 4: CS+

Apple dropped support for adapters that aren’t MFI certified so you probably need to find one that is MFI certified out there. Apple being Apple.

Funny as it is, out of the 3 adapters I have, the one that is not working is the one that came with my purchase of BM3 from X-ph also. The other 2 that aren’t Apple certified are both working. Cheap a** version. I’m on 15.2 and now it’s seeing the car.
