Part of the running in service on M power BMW's. Its because the friction plates in the LSD bedding in during that running in period.

I still have them and they are currently on the car.

Nice to have them to swap from time to time.

They are noticeably heavier than the 763M's though.

Funny you should say that......

This big box has been taking up space in the workshop for several weeks now so it was time to do something about it....

A complete 2NH M performance brake kit which is identical to the standard steel brake set up on the M2CS, factory optional on the M2 comp (but with grey callipers) and shares the same callipers (gold on CCB) and disc size as the carbon ceramic brake option.

There are various reasons why i went for this set up over say an AP or Alcon brake kit. This set up is great value for money compared to AP kit and being OEM BMW, parts availability is same day or next which appealed just like the M performance 6 piston calliper and CSL disc set up I had on my old E46 M3 plus I love an OEM retro fit on my cars.

These were fitted with HEL braided lines in black and bled out with ATE type 200 brake fluid, the OEM pads will be swapped out for Pagid RSL29's for track/ring work.

Old vs new

Fronts are 6 piston callipers, discs are 400x36mm vs 4 piston callipers, 380x30mm discs and rear are 4 piston callipers, 380x28mm discs vs two piston callipers, 370x24mm discs plus the pads almost twice the size.

Brake upgrade available as a retro fit option on ISTA

My vehicle order (spec) read out post retro fit programming.

I've not has a chance to put many miles on to fully bed the new brakes in yet.

Good job on the brakes. I'm liking your oem parts only approach even down to the configuration. Also has a hint of M5 cs going on now.

Btw Green over tan ftw as always. My f90 is Oxford over Aragon. Old e46 was Oxford over cinnamon.

What a stunning car. And great write up. Tastefully modded using OEM bits.
I’ll be sure to keep my eyes peeled to hopefully see this one on the road someday

Is the the same for all LSD vehicles?

All my cars when new, I change my engine oil at 1000km and second one at 5000 km and after that every 5000 or max 7000 km.

At what mileage you had the first oil change for the LSD?

Yes all M power BMW's have the LSD oil changed at the running in service circa 1200 miles.

For the UK BMW state the next LSD oil change for the F8x M2/3/4 is every third oil service so that can be as much as 54000 miles or at 6 years after build date, whichever comes first.

I dont believe in 18000 mile engine oil changes and 54000 miles is too long for a rear axel oil change.

My car is getting an engine oil and filter change every 5000 miles in between services and the LSD oil every 20k miles.

Thank you for that. I always followed the dealership for the LSD. Never had a problem and thought is good that way. Obviously not.

I'd definitely be interested in hearing your thoughts once you've put some miles on them and the differences you notice.

Completely agree, 'oem plus' style is definitely 'the' way to modify modern cars.
No issue with using aftermarket bits but should always look oem in design imo.
Apologies for posting an M2 in M4 thread, simply making a visual point.
Good choice with the brakes too, car looks fantastic.

I realize this may be an unpopular opinion—

I love the story, but hate the car/color/combo..

Im not a big fan of the F82 style (compared to F80) to begin with, but this combo of the F82/green/brown is not something I could live with.

Anyways, good story!
