Man, I have not been paying attention. This sounds very much like a P-car marketing move. Release base version year 1. Upgraded version year 2. Special version year 3, new special(er) version year 4, etc.

(M3, M3 COMP, M3 CS, M3CSL, M3CSL Ultra......)

But, I guess this would go along with the thought of this is the last ICE M3. Although that could be going away with the lastest backlash against EVs. We'll see.

Awesome! Can't really go wrong with a loud romping V8 in the current market climate. The color is great as well. Enjoy!

Thanks cotmfk ! Another reason why I decided on this purchase was I wanted to experience the V8 before it’s done away with. Car is an absolute blast to drive. She pulls pretty hard.

minn19 , I would recommend looking at one of these as well when possibly making your decision. I love the new Dark Horse, but price and that interior screen just isn’t my thing (need to get used to it). The digital display on the Mach 1 is fabulous and looks great in sport + as well as track mode.

Now, it looks like every single X5 here and the ratio of them here is comparable to the Tesla ratio on the roads in California. I was going to buy an X5 V8 and instead got a Rivian due to the popularity, headlights, and the space invader bumper design of the Bimmers. BMW is high. I have many friends who live in Germany and they all agree with me.

It's bad, went to drive the new M2 today in black and all the sales people could do was talk about was my car. I'd think it was the usual salesman pitch, but what car salesman would try to sell you a new car by telling you how nice your current car looks? It took me nearly 30 minutes to even get to the test drive because I had to walk 3 different people around my car. One even said the F8x cars are the best looking BMWs ever made, and I didn't want to disagree.

Drove the M2 in 6MT, seating position is great. You sit low in the car sort of like the F8x, I didn't feel popped up like I did in the G82. Regular seats are the ones to get, they're just fine and optioning the CF buckets put you in M3/M4 pricing so they make no sense. Shifter is typical BMW, and I wasn't able to flog the car too much as it only had 30 miles on it. Down low was sort of a disappointment though, it's ridiculous how they detune the S58 so it won't compete with the M3/M4. It felt noticeably less puncy than my CS, I'd reserve final judgment until I could pound it through the gears but it didn't feel nearly as quick as my car out the gate. I was also EXTREMELY happy that after nearly three years of not driving a 6MT, I was rowing gears again like I had never left. I cannot tell you often I worried I would lose that beloved skill, it's like riding a bike.

The car is every bit as big as my M4, even the trunk looks to be the same size. It's incredible this is now a 2 series. If I needed a car, this is probably the one I'd buy however since the GT3 dream just gets farther and farther away.

I agree with this assumption.Except, one cannot downsize to a 2 series. like selling a 911 for a cayman...
