That color looks so much like Satin Silver with sunlight directly on it. Hm.

minn19 , you sure did go rogue. lol! I have mixed emotions about it because……I miss you being in a P-Car.

As for the new M5, sheez! I’m sure it’ll drive great, but these cars really do keep getting heavier.
Fan-f**king-tastic on the rims...they look amazing!

M5 weight is getting to be absurd. My diesel LR Discovery weighs about the same.

I agree. In direct light the satin silver aspects of the color comes through.

Thanks bro!

It’s crazy that the LR Discovery is just as heavy.

I actually had to look it up. I was wrong and owe JLR an apology. The disco is only 4900 lbs!

G90 adds another 36mm over the G60. M5 now over 200in long. At this point BMW could fit another model between the M3 and M5.

No, I wasn’t ever banned. I managed to bitch about it without being banned somehow. I just love this thread more than any on here. As for the g82 I have (and the g80 before), there’s nothing with a warranty I can get for the same price that does as much.

Many of us were banned for completely harmless comments. Some very ... soft.. egos over there. And still banned, btw. Makes zero sense.

Sedan_ClanI guess I am a ‘Merican redneck when it comes how I like my cars. I find the Z06 much more exciting than either of my 911s, but similiar with my previous CGTS 4.0 if that makes sense. I can definitely see myself looking at a CPO GT4 or even GT3 in the future. The 911s, especially the 992s are too nice and refined IMO. They do everything too good for me, again if that makes any sense.

I really love the combo I have now. It’s too bad GM and their subsidiaries earned the reputation they have because they are pumping out some truly amazing vehicles right now. I have almost 7k miles on my CT4V BW and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It really is the best/most fun sedan I’ve ever driven or owned. Their resale sucks so people can get some smoking deals on very lightly used ones in the low 50s. Nothing competes with it in that range for a sedan or some coupes IMO (M2).

The jury is still out on the Z06, just hoping I don’t have the same experience I did with my GT350s. I only have 800 miles on it, which is crazy considering it is supposedly winter in MN, but what an event it is too drive! Had it up to just shy of 7k and what a visceral rush it is!

The Porsche I miss the most right now is our previous Cayenne S. It was amazing how that thing rode and handled for a big SUV. Obviously so much more fun to drive that to kids sporting and family events than the Pathfinder. But the Nissan does it’s mission extremely well, but in an extremely boring fashion. Needed the three rows/8 passanger seating and don’t mind that it is getting torn up with hockey/soccer gear and of course the players that ride in it. Once our daughter can drive herself my wife and I will be looking at Cayenne or Macan GTS immediately and give the Pathfinder to our daughter.

Love the mods to your 992, keep the pics coming! Sorry for the long winded response, for some reason your comment triggered (in a good way ) a car thought stream!

if bimmerpost was a bus, this thread is the very back where all the cool kids sit.

g8x forums are a different bus all together... with a much shorter wheelbase.

My PPF guy had a brand new Z06 in the shop on Saturday when getting the Rivian PPF'd. It had all the bells and whistles. Full carbon pack with carbon wheels. Orange exterior and black interior. It was pretty gorgeous. It also had the window sticker on it at 178k and the owner paid a 36k mark up. OUCH!
Great car but I dunno about that kind of money for a Chevrolet. But, I also think 911's prices are ridiculous too.

I prefer a car that is a bit more unrefined and old fashioned, hence the 718 preference over the 992. If I found a good conditioned 991.2, maybe? But I absolutely get it. I been following the weird trend of preferring things that are a bit more old fashioned than having a bunch of tech and gizmo's in your face all the time. Apparently that is a millennial/Gen-Z thing.

Been driving an Elantra N 6MT for a bit, gotta say, this is one damn impressive car under $35k. You can truly feel Albert Biermann’s influence when driving.

I hear yah, everyone has their pain points and their hang ups (badge). Mine was 142k plus 12k markup and that was pushing it.

Imagine if BMW made anything remotely close to it and what it would cost……..and look like.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about how good those are to drive. But man, it makes the G8Xs look pretty, especially in that color scheme.

Haha she’s definitely not a looker, but at $32k its definitely a lot more excusable, especially when it doesn’t come from a lineage of beautiful cars *cough* g80 *cough*

The color is actually one of my favorite things outside of how it drives. A very nice baby blue, tons of compliments on it too.

Agreed on the first part!

Maybe that’s why I don’t like it, never liked light blue. Might’ve been because my parents used to own a baby blue Ford Fairmont wagon, that thing was a POS and we all hated it.

I am part of this cadre as well. I have the 212 E63. Have near zero interest in the 213 E63. It is faster stock for stock, better mpg, so those things would be nice. But, it's so large. And the video game dashboard is not my style. I still prefer the analog-look gauges.

And obviously same with the F80... zero interest in the G80...

It's fun when the car you drive is fast, but not any old grandma can just get in, slam the pedal, and rock out a 10.x 1/4, etc. (Aka, it's fun when the car is a bit challenging...)

So I did a thing (that's my girls X3 in the back so there is no confusion ).

I've been missing the sound of a V8 and the feel of a 6MT for a long time now. After spending months looking at the market waiting for the right car to show up with all the right options. The stars aligned and this popped up on the market last week.

Has 17k miles on it, CPO, and has all the options I wanted when I first built one out.

My girl told me if I didn't jump on this I'd be an idiot and she's not much of a car person but she knew what I'd been missing.

So I did as I was told and flew out and grabbed it

I drove it back from Texas and man was it one of the most fun drives I've had.

Next up is a full detail (the dealership only had the car 3 days so they didn't do anything to it), tint, and full PPF.
