Anyone else get banned from the G8X section for making fun of its looks?

Engine is fine so far, I can start it and go but I am missing the entire bottom passenger engine intake. I am pretty sure the undercarriage is damaged on the passenger side since it crumpled when he slammed into me. Think my passenger door took the brunt of the damage.

I spun close to 3 times on the 101 before stopping. Thankfully cars behind all saw it happen so they all stopped while I was spinning and I wasn't hit by another car. I was blind sided completely, I have no clue where this guy came from. Was driving straight about to merge into 101 after doing that turn with the two lanes. Then right after, I heard a very loud crack and next thing I knew I was spinning. I saw multiple cars coming all slow down and stop because they clearly saw me get hit and as soon as I got my bearings while spinning, I braked because I was getting close to the wall on the left side (I remember the CHP officer called it 1). I stopped after going over that gutter thing on the left side. I remember attempting to counter steer a bit but I wasn't sure where I was until I finally stopped.

My mother doesn't want me to drive out at night anymore after this. I don't how much the damage will be but part of me is hoping they will total it but part of me doesn't. I don't know I will try to figure it out later when I wake up.

The buckets saved me from being injured I think. When he hit me, I had my air pods on and it flung one of my airpods into my passenger door pocket (found it at home) and it also flung my glasses to the passenger side also. I am feeling aches now, as I am typing this. Both of my shoulders, a little on my hip and stomach hurts a bit too. I'm typing this down so I don't forget. When I spoke to the CHP officer, I was still rattled that I missed some details about how hard that hit was that my glasses and airpods flew.

Sedan_Clan I'm unsure what else you can do or I can do but PM me and I'll give you my number.

Maybe it was a stolen Civic? Running from the scene leaving your own car is a pretty top tier dumb move.

You would be surprised how many people flee from their own cars after crashes; some have even left their own kids in the vehicle(s). People flee the car due to being illegal aliens, having no drivers licenses or suspended licenses, having no vehicle insurance, due to being drunk, having wants or warrants, etc. I’ve seen it all.

I wish I did. I still have my dash cam but I never got the chance to.

Since CHP has the guy's car and it is a hit and run, I don't think it completely matters.

All I am currently concerned with is State Farm fucking me over. I want to start over at this point. I had trouble engaging my shifter after the hit, and as I said my FAL isn't deactivating. The hit was my passenger door to middle section and it destroyed my bottom intake there. It crumpled most of it and my car looks off just from every angle. My passenger side of my car is just... done, completely. Rear mag wheel is heavily damaged with marks from either his tires or his car. My suspension looks off as well. She kept me safe, at the cost of... I don't know how much.

I'm glad Porsche makes the car so sturdy because I honestly would have been injured if my buckets didn't keep me in place. My tint prevented the shattered glass from getting to me as well but there are still small bits of broken glass in the car.

It could be for all I know. He literally left his car, which I saw him get out. I saw his face but I told the CHP officer I cannot 100% pick him from a lineup. I am about 80% sure I can pick him out since I saw him but I am still shocked from what happened. CHP officer said I have to be 100% sure and I couldn't be 100% sure right after such a huge hit. I didn't realize the dude ran until the CHP officer towed his car to the Dennis were we met up. I asked the CHP if the guy was okay (despite how pissed I am), CHP officer said, the guy is gone. It is now a hit and run but they have his vehicle with scorch marks on the front because the Civic was on fire a little. I thought that was the reason why the dude got out but I guess he straight up ran away and left his car on the freeway? So, I am hoping CHP can track him but... yeah.

If I didn't move my car after the spin, my accident scene would have shut down the 101 north bound completely. I moved because this is the first major accident I ever been in. I forgotten 101 North had no shoulder on the right side of the freeway so I was panicked kept telling responders to get CHP to me so they stop cars from hitting me as they exit the Fastrack lane.

I can also see all of my concussion symptoms now. I am mistyping all over the place, headache hasn't gone away, stomach is bothering me and I am aching all over but it isn't severe at the moment.

Fugly M3 I am a little selfish at this point, but I want it totaled. I was on the phone with the GSM and he said I should start over as well after this but all I am hoping is State Farm not fucking me over and they find the bastard who fucking hit me while I was minding my own business. DTLA does have allocations left for the GT4RS so it isn't out of the question but trying not to think on that yet as I don't know the exact cost of the damage. Considering my entire passenger side is destroyed, I don't know.

If the damage amounts to more than half the total market value of the car, they’ll total it. It’ll all depend on a number of factors. With the insurance skyrocketing in California, it’s possible your rates are going to jump up substantially or your policy could be canceled even though it might not have been your fault.

It’s a little inaccurate because it’s currently raining on the 15 freeway on the way to Nevada (…north of Baker). It’s now showing 91 degrees.

I’ve got an i4 eDrive40 loaner while my Rivian is in the shop. It’s a great daily driver. Really nice to have an effectively disposable car that just drives comfortably and gets you where you need to go.

Absolutely! My Corolla SE has very little power, but it’s a manual and it gets 48 MPG [on the freeway] out of a 10 gallon tank. I can make it from Nevada to L.A. County and back to the last rest stop before State Line on one tank of gas (…although I’ll stop at Costco in Victorville if I can).

i hope statefarm doesn't screw you. they gave me a great rate for my gt3 and m2, but they couldn't give me a agreed value on them. I kept asking them what they go by for their values and if i totaled my car today what would they give me.... no answer.

insurance companies are so scummy though. grundy dropped me after i got married last year. they found an accident on the wife's record from 4 years prior (wind jack knifing her airstream trailer and damaging it).

My cousin in law apparently knows an accident lawyer that has his face all over billboards around in SoCal ( Sedan_Clan and mzcp may know who I am speaking of) and I will contact him tomorrow and see if he is able to help. I am going to try and go to BH tomorrow where my car is going to be and speak with the body shop. I want to be there. The only thing that is going to stop me is if my concussion symptoms gets worse.

I will not allow State Farm screw me over on this. I will do my best to make sure this is done right.

This is why I rock Travelers and new car replacement waiver.

I had state farm screw me on my 23k mile collectors grade E92 M3 a couple of years ago. Tried to put on all aftermarket crap parts and I had to pay out of pocket to get quality. Then I just sold the car right after.
