If this is not how it works, then I believe the "catch" is that all tune maps in the map slots need to be similar tune files that share some base line elements. Remember, the tune "file" inside the DME contains over 4800 different maps/parameters that control the engine. Only a subset of those 4800 maps/parameters are actually manipulated by tuners when creating different tune files with different power levels and/or fuel type requirements. So, for example, the Stage 1 OTS map and a Stage 2 OTS map and stock map may not share enough base line elements to be bundled together in a CustomROM multimap. So this could be a practical limitation of the DME that can't be overcome - at least not yet. I am not a professional tuner by any stretch of the imagination. What I described in the second paragraph above seems like a technically plausible reason why you can't bundle just any map of your choice. However, I hope that I am wrong as I would like to be able to bundle tune files if my choice, similar to the ones above.

And it appears in the OTS multimap one cannot individually configure the options for each of the 4 OTS slots (so can't adjust burbles for OTS Stage 1 vs OTS CS, for example). All config settings get applied to all 4 slots it appears.
Gotta keep the tuners in biz I guess |

Can BM3 now integrate with the MOTIV Reflex? I believe your release says it can but would appreciate it if PTF could confirm.
“ Features in our CustomROM release have been added in a way to preserve all existing DME calibration safeties in place and integrating new and existing CANBus (PT-CAN) messages from other vehicle modules (e.g. steering wheel) and auxiliary CANBus devices.” |

Beating a dead horse here, but this would be fantastic. If someone figures out how to do this on a end user basis, please let us know or PM me.
Thanks!

Looks like they haven't even figured out a way yet for us to bundle a custom tune and ots tune for map switching. Hopefully it's something they add down the road

So if I understand this correctly, how much additional HP/TQ will you get if you have the flex fuel hardware installed and run E85 with one of the OTS multimaps? So in other words the Stg 1 93 Oct map makes X HP on 93 Oct gas (I have this in my car now). If I put in a tank of E85, the DME using the flex fuel hardware will make adjustments in real time (adjusting fueling, timing, etc) to the Stg 1 93 Oct map to produce more HP/TQ. This map is clearly not optimized for E85, but what will be the percentage increase in HP/TQ with E85 in the tank while running this map? 10% increase? 20% increase? : ...

EDIT: I could easily pulley down more to add a few more PSI and probably another 10% hp. E85 does wonders compared to traditional 91/93. EDIT 2: Plus having the ability to flex really makes it awesome. If I want to take a road trip and get better gas mileage or if I just can't get E, I can easily throw some 91 in. I really can't think of a downside of a flex tune. If you don't like it, you just fill up with regular 91/93 and go on your merry way.

Because I couldn't hold any traction in the cold so I went back to 93 for winter, and just mixed a tank of E30 to start playing in good weather. My Paul tune is like 2++ and built for race only so I try to scale back the power unless I plan to use it.

I just did a successful map switch with the car running.
My Ethanol sensor setting is set to override (I have no sensor or hookup) and % set to 30. Car was running on Slot4 (CS) and I switched live to Slot3 (Stg2 93 octane). All done with E30 in my tank.

If you buy the flex controller and load a flex tune then you don't need to swap tunes to change fuels. That is the point of flex fuel, one tune to handle everything. Then have the 4 maps setup as your everyday version, a all out version, a flat torque version maybe, a valet tune, a flame tune etc..

Why would they put an ethanol blend map as a map slot when you have flex fuel?! You’re missing the point of flex fuel. It does anything from 0 to 100 ethanol for you bro, way better than doing some fixed blend
