50km into the Klifex cap replacement, I'm happy to say the squeal has gone away.
Will update in a month. Hopefully it holds. I did first try an amazon pcv replacement cap, which did not work |

Wanted to give an update on my Klifex PCV fix after about 9 months and ~7,000 miles. So far it’s been working perfectly with no signs of the squeal returning. I installed mine using a little bit of JB weld around the lip where it seats onto the valve cover to ensure a good seal, which seems to be holding up well.
The replacement valve fixed my issue without any modification or drilling holes, just a direct swap. Reading through I’ve seen a few people who have had to drill holes to get theirs to work properly, I’m still not sure what causes that to be necessary for some but not others. I’ll post another update after a few thousand more miles (or if the squeal returns). |

Hey all!
just ordered the kliflex kit from amazon. Is the final verdict that this can be installed straight out of the box? or is it still recommended to remove the bladder and drill the holes? thanks! Edit: Installed the kit straight out of the box and worked perfect for about 5 days. This morning I heard the squeal again, looks like ill be removing it once more and adding the 4 holes to it. If that does not work then removing the bladder completely should resolve it i hope Last edited by MINERALGREY_F80M3; 07-11-2024 at 09:37 AM.. |

Hey all,
Yesterday I had time to tackle this again, so I removed the bladder and drilled 5 holes into the Kliflex cap. Sound is gone, took her for a spin last night for a mile or 2 and everything was great. This morning on my longer commute to work I got a CEl, scan came back with the following: 102E11 air mass meter 102A31 air mas meter 101F01 Throttle vale angle I am confident that no coupler was left loose but will double check this afternoon to be sure. Assuming this is PCV related, my thought was to re install the bladder and leave the 5 holes to see if that may correct the issue. I am glad the squeal is gone and the car is driving excellent, hopefully the CEL is just a hiccup |

The car can't measure the air leaking in through these holes, but it can see the lean condition via the O2 sensors, and responds by increasing fuel trim to keep AFR on target. If the trims get high enough, you'll get codes related to air metering, or lean condition. It's mostly a problem at idle, and probably not so much when cruising around. Can you check your LTFT at idle to see how high it is? |

I do not see any option to see LTFT live in BM3 so ill have to run a log at idle to see and revert back. Was considering leaving the holes but re-installing the bladder, not sure if that would do anything at this point. Maybe the 5th hole was too much as some have said also! haha

Quick update, cleared the codes and drove home (commute is about 15 miles) and they did not return. What did return is that dreadful squeal. it is strange because it does not do it at idle, rather sporadically above 1100 rpms. Im either going to add another hole and pray for no CEL or have to replace VC which I really dont feel like doing. Would be DIY but just the thought makes me upset lol

1k km no problem and the squeal is coming back I’m not going to go into drilling holes Up next is the VC My concern is that I’ve read that changing the VC will not fix a secondary gasket hidden somewhere. |

So the membrane in mine had a pretty big cut in the center so it’s def the culprit..
I accidentally let the jb weld cure for 45 minutes before I noticed I didn’t put enough weight on it to hold all sides even, I re cleaned it and used the original spring instead of the one that came with the new kit allowing the cap to sit better. At this point it’s 50/50 we will see Sunday whenever I put it all back together |
