Used amp coding

So, amp blew in my F83 no signs of water intrusion, no blown fuses, but had the typical "no warning tones" message. Sourced a used amp from another f83 and put it in, as expected nothing changed since it needs to be coded.

Question is do I have to take it to the stearlrship to get this done or is someone capable of doing it for me. I'm near Boston if that helps, just looking to avoid the dealership.

Edit Symptoms:
No warning tones
No time shown on idrive does not let me set it
Cannot view service intervals or history in drive
Nav works
Bluetooth works
No signs of water Intrusion

Just went to BMW yesterday and they hooked it up and were unable to communicate with the amp

They said some other module in the MOST system could be bad as well.

Going to get a fiber optic loop bypass and give that a shot.

Starting to think the amp might not be bad and its the TCM or something else

Most ring is quite simple on F8x series with only 3 devices on the most ring unless you have TV.

Look for two green fibre wires side by side.

1 Most Cluster to connector behind idrive
2 into idrive from connector behind idrive
3 amp to connector behind idrive ( follows path behind dashboard down left hand side of car adjacent to side sills.

TCM / ATM is Ethernet connected so doesn’t use most.

Items like MMIs with patch connector with most not seated correctly can be issues or aftermarket clusters.

Also any additional wiring that has been added where the installer has cable tied around the most fibre as fibre is easy to break.

Not displaying history is a bit of a concern as is date and time. These do come in via TCM from BMW , but unusual that the service history has gone. But if bmw reflashed the idrive then it should come back over the air.
