I have the Avid tire inflator, and was wondering if anyone else has experience with this unit? Do you have to fill higher than the set psi on the digital readout to get the desired tire pressure? Unit is fully charged but I think someone mentioned you need to go to about 33 psi to get the desired 32psi result. I was recalibrating the tire pressure in the car the other night but it got stuck at 99%. So I just shut it off, and figured I would inflate the tires anyway. When the tire measurement resumed in the morning it took about 1-2 min to finish and said I was at 29psi even though I inflated all to 32 psi. The tire pressure read 29psi when the test finished in the morning. The unit barely filled the tires when it ran… maybe 10 sec. Do you think I just need to reperform the test? Because I have heard that people need to set the Avid unit to a higher psi to achieve a lower psi - ie. 33psi to achieve 32psi. Thoughts? Thanks!

First, temperature makes a big difference in tire pressure. Every 10 degrees is 1 PSI difference. If you adjusted your tire pressure in the sun during the day and then check it again the next morning before the sun comes up, there will be a difference.

Second, I wouldn't count on the TPMS sensor as 100% accurate. It'll tell you if you have a leak, but could be a few PSI off.

Third, I'm not sure how accurate your tire inflator is. I would use a dedicated tire gauge like this one for the best accuracy. https://www.amazon.com/JACO-ElitePro.../dp/B07VV78RZ1

I use the tire measurement tool in the menu to get the accurate tire pressure after filling.
Hope thats accurate.

As for the measurement I retook this evening in 78-80F the tires in the front were 30psi and the rears at 31psi. The tires themselves were between 80-90F.

Was thinking, rather than using the tire pressure filler set at 32psi to do 33.5 all around. Does this make sense?
