I think it will be more related to how the M3 is reviewed. The current M5 was basically panned by the critics so BMW seemed to rush out the comp package to address their concerns.

That's totally true, but there are some disadvantages to the M3 coming out first. I'm sure the initial reviews will be stellar. However, when the C63 comes out there will undoubtedly be comparisons to the M3 in those reviews. If the C63 is a beast and those comparisons aren't favorable to the M3 you can bet that BMW will react as quickly as they did with the M5/M6.

Because the M5 ZCP is 7k, they will never offer a 7k ZCP on a M3. 2.5k at the most. Anyone waiting for this is waiting for nothing. New wheels, lower suspension.

BMW M5 European Sales : November 2011. BMW M5 North American sales : Summer 2012. BMW M5 Competition Packet : May 2013. They are absolutely not going to introduce the M3 and M4 and then a Competition packet at the same time. The new car has to be established first and it has to find its audience. You are not going to get a competition packet within the first year.

This package will include: Electronic Damping Control with new Sport mode mapping 19â wheels (style 359M)performance tires Lowered M suspension Modified DSC mapping Nothing that special which is why I don't get why anyone would wait? This isn't going to be a M5 comparable ZCP. The price point makes no sense. |

I test drove an m6 CP vs. my M5 [wasn't even an option to get CP because I bought my M5 off the lot and didn't custom build] and it would be incredibly hard to tell if it was the CP upgrade or just the difference between M5 and M6... I tend to think the more planted feeling came from the M6 itself not the CP package vs. a non-M5... I'm sure there is real value in the additions the CP brings but again I really doubt much like the B&O its 7k+ worth of differences lol, just like the B&O isn't 3700 dollars better than the HK. |

You guys who think the new ZCP won't add power are hilarious. We are in the turbo era. There is always power on the table, even more with minor cooling tweaks.
I predict 2017MY comes with ZCP. +25hp, +30ft-lb, 10mm lower, same steering rack, wheels.

So the best solution as i have it inside my mind will be to order Feb or March 2015 and get a 2016 model which for sure will have fixed any possible issues. Most changes at BMW's factories are applied every March and every July per year i think ?

Yep. I also think you'll be able to get some smokin' M4 deals at that point. Just my opinion. But the M2 will probably perform close and be cheaper.

What problems are those? LOL I own one and take turns ALMOST if not as fast as my M3... 14.5k miles on the m5 and 15k miles on the e92 there aren't many problems except when you take a 35mph turn just a tad too fast and the weight bites [but if you know what you're doing the car will be fine]
Is it really necessary for 99% of people to take tuns at 110 vs. 95/100 lol Most people probably don't even hit the limiter on a daily basis. |

If you say so lol I still very much doubt you could discern 7k+ worth of differences same way I couldn't for the B&O all that matters is you're enjoying it. I don't keep cars more than a year anyway so not really a moot point for me if they do or don't come out with a CP for the m4.
