Roof-liner Thud
Hi,
I get this thud that seems to be coming from the roof liner when going over sharp bumps like uneven highway expansion joints. I need to find a way to capture this on video but in the meantime, has anyone experienced anything like this before? I read that some people get a noise from the dome light area but not sure if that is a thud or a rattle type sound. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Nope, no tints on my car. It's definitely coming from the front roof area. Can I disconnect the the front dome light with sos etc without throwing any errors? If so I'll remove it and drive around to see if I can narrow it down.

I suggest removing the rear brake light, dome light, and roof overhead console. Then, drive around and see whether the noise has stopped. If so, install them back on one by one and see which one is the culprit. I'm pretty sure you can remove them with a plastic pry tool. Good luck!

Yes, you will get a SOS error but should be able to clear it with bimmerlink or any other code reader once you install the front dome light.
