Hi guys.
I made a M4 DTM Champion Edition st. canard a few days ago.

Genuine canard is too expensive for me.
So I made it at home
I skinned carbon fiber cloth on canard that printed with 3D printer.

I designed it using a friend's genuine DTM canard and image.
Design was too difficult for me because I'm a design beginner.
And I printed it to a 3D printer.
It took 12 hours to print 4 canards.

The canard printed with 3D printer was trimmed with sandpaper and a carbon fiber cloth was attached to it.
That's real carbon fiber.

The carbon fiber is molded using epoxy resin.
Repeat the process of applying epoxy resin and sanding a few times to complete the carbon fiber parts we know.
I made this process fun with YouTube videos.

Please check it out.

of course.
I'll send you a stl file if you give me your email address. ^^
I'm a modeling beginner, you need a lot of sanding and shaping after 3d printer output.
anyway, please give me your email adress.

I’m assuming you’re based in S. Korea judging by the emoticon you’re using (^^ lol)
Nice work!
Did you have any trouble with air bubbles/voids in the resin coating? If so, how did you remedy the issue?
I have seen some surface imperfections when working with fiberglass and wanted to know how to avoid those.

TIA

Thanks for the compliment!
I live exactly in Korea. ^^
There are several ways to avoid air bubbles on the surface.
Before applying epoxy resin, I remove the air bubble by dipping the mixing cup in hot water when mixing epoxy resin and hardener.
When applying epoxy resin, apply it as thinly as possible.
This process minimizes air bubbles
If you want a high quality surface, apply epoxy resin 2-3 times, and after curing, leveling the surface with sandpaper.
And after polishing with compound.
Polishing after, the surface will be perfect.
If you don't want to use epoxy resin.
You can use clear spray on top coat. It is very simple way.
I hope you helpful.

Thank you for the information.
Warming up the container sounds interesting! I’ll give it a try.

Stay safe, my friend.

OP demonstrates this in one of this other videos. mix epoxy in cup, submerge cup in warm (near boiling water).

start at 4:35.

if you have a mini torch, you can use the heat from that to remove any air bubbles as well after applying the layer of epoxy

start at 5:18

STL files

Hi, Guys~
This is the STL file link here.
However, this file will require a lot of shaping after printing to a 3D printer.
I am a beginner in modeling.
I hope guys understand it.
It is 2 files, you can copy the opposite shape and flip it.
