My dad had an early 90s NSX manual. I got to learn how to drive a stick on that car.

It was special and holds a real place in my heart.

Amazing vehicle.

I had the same prior to the M3 CS. Non-ZCP with MPE. No burble on the non-ZCP but honestly you aren't missing much. Burble is kind of a gimmik nowadays. Cold start sounds the same to me for all of them.

The fact that as I am approaching 4 years of ownership I still look for reasons to drive it and it puts a smile on my face like my NSX did. I loved my NSX and it was the perfect NA car. The M4 is such a vastly different character but equally as fun and can hold the family on the rare occasion that my car gets picked for family outings.

I'm a track noob, but I'm really impressed by it on the track and it's the only BMW I've had the opportunity to drive over a long period of time that when I take it out for a spin up in the mountains, I "become one with the car" and really get a good flow going.

The 6MT becomes especially more fun on track. The cloth seats are great, the wheels are light (unlike any other BMW before), it's a four-door sedan with a frickin' carbon driveshaft, and it really wants me to drive like a complete dickbag.

the only reason I tuned was for the louder downshifts. they're significantly more pronounced now with the gts features enabled but I don't care much for the burbles. I actually preferred the stock startup because I could open the valves before starting the car and it was extremely loud and sounds fantastic with the mpe, imo. shakes the whole garage

Oh I almost forgot... cold start on the CS is automatic. I had to "prime" the non-ZCP (press start, sport mode, pump gas, press start and hold) for the cold start. However, on the CS the valves close after the startup even in sport mode. They stayed open on the non-ZCP.

That gear box is one of the best. Then I went and turned up the power to 450whp with a heavy dual racing clutch and hated to drive it. LOL.

yep that's exactly what I'm talking about. the zcp, cs and gts all share the gts start-up roar where the valves are open for 1-2 seconds and then close immediately. you can still reopen the valves by putting it in sport and tapping the accelerator after the engine is running. the actual gts just sounds better on startup because it comes with mpe

on non zcp you can open the valves before starting it and with the mpe it sound amazing imo. it has such a loud rumble sounds very race car-ish imo

It was indeed amazing and crazy smooth.

I love the HUD, one of the coolest and useable gimmicks on the car.

I did a few hard pulls and his mood changed for the better. My older son said, "Hey Dad we were going real fast". I said I know. He said "You know how I could tell?" I said you could see the speedo? He said "No, my ding dong tingled". I agreed. The younger inconsolable son, who was recovering said "You're ding dong can tingle?". I said yes, in time it will.
