Antigravity Batteries has changed the game again with their latest Lithium-Ion Car Batteries. The newest RE-START line of batteries offers built-in WIRELESS Jump-Starting! That means if your battery is ever discharged, simply press the Button on our provided Keyfob, start the car and drive away! No need for a Jump-Starter, or Roadside Assistance. AG's amazing RE-START Technology is the first battery ever to offer Wireless Remote-activated built-in Jump Starting. (Can also be activated manually by pressing Restart button on top of battery.) So it won’t allow you to get stranded with a dead battery! For example if you left your lights on, the intelligent Battery Management System (BMS) in each RE-START battery would put itself to sleep before being drained dead, yet save just enough energy to start your vehicle again and get you out of that emergency. And with our WIRELESS REMOTE KEYFOB you can activate the Jump-Starting without ever opening the hood of the car. Simply press the Keyfob Button, start your car and drive away.

FULL BATTERY MANAGEMENT: BUILT-IN BMS FOR SAFETY AND LONG LIFE
The Antigravity Batteries RE-START system offers the latest technology for the safest, longest life cycle possible. Our superior on-board Battery Management System (BMS) offers Safety Circuitry to prevent Over-Discharge and Over-Charge, and has Short-Circuit protections, while additionally offering Cell Balancing and Thermal protections. These advanced features of our BMS make the battery not only as safe as possible, but also extend the life of the battery by keeping the battery in the prime operating zone and not allowing damage to the battery. Therefore creating the longest possible Life Cycle. From 7-9 years are expected from the Antigravity RE-START Batteries depending on use and climate.

PERFORMANCE BENEFITS
Weight: The ultralight 60Ah Antigravity RE-START Batteries weigh 18.5 lbs. The weight savings will lead the road in increasing your vehicle’s performance in several key areas such as handling, allowing shorter braking distances, improved acceleration and even better gas mileage.

H8/GROUP 49
Models Available in 60Ah & 80Ah - both feature better cranking performance than a 90Ah Lead Battery

FEATURES & BENEFITS
- First Battery with WIRELESS Built-In Jump-Starting! Wireless Keyfob Remote actuated Emergency Jump Starting. So you won't be stranded by a dead battery ever again!
- FULL Battery Management System (BMS) including Over-Discharge, Over-Charge, Short Circuit, Thermal Protections and Cell Balancing.
- RE-START TECHNOLOGY: The RE-START Battery has self-restarting capabilities. It intelligently monitors its status and if it senses over-discharge it will put itself into a sleep mode, yet saves enough energy to allow you to RE-START your vehicle. Simply press the wireless keyfob or activation button on the battery.
- OEM FITMENT: Exact Lead/Acid Replacement sizes. No additional modifications or trays necessary to install.
- LONGER LIFE: 2x to 3x the lifecycle of lead/acid and other Lithium batteries due to full Battery Management system.
- HIGH POWER: Up to 3x the Cranking Amps of similar sized lead/acid battery. Better Starting and higher voltage at start-up.
- ULTRA LIGHTWEIGHT: The Antigravity RE-START Battery can be as much as 70% lighter than the Lead/Acid equivalent. This equates to roughly 40lb or more lbs of instant weight-loss just by changing out the battery! That makes the Antigravity Lithium-Ion Battery the most cost-effective weight-loss product hands-down, while offering better starting, handling and braking! A real performance value!
- LOW SELF-DISCHARGE: The RE-START Battery does not self-discharge like Lead/Acid Batteries. It offers a longer storage time provided there are not excessive parasitic drains on the battery.
- DURABILITY AND CAR SAFE: Much more resilient to vibration than Lead/Acid. Incredibly shock and vibration resistant; no liquids or acid inside to spill or drain out. Will not release dangerous Hydrogen while Charging and will not leak liquids that are damaging to your finish or chassis such as acid.
- ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFER BATTERY: No Acid or Heavy Metals such as Lead, Cadmium, or Mercury. Always remember to Recycle your batteries responsibly!

Antigravity LiFePO4 Lithium Battery installation

We've been long-term testing and collecting datalogs of this battery type since last year on a daily driver/weekend warrior M4 with no absolutely no voltage issues or starting.

Comparison of OEM battery and Antigravity

OEM battery weight @ 30lbs

Antigravity weight @ 18.6lbs

The Antigravity batteries come ready to install, no additional parts are needed. In this install, we used the H6-40-RS (60Ah) as it closely matches the OEM battery specs while shedding 11.5 lbs of weight over the stock battery. Its size allows the use of the factory battery hold down cleat without the use of battery adapters or trays. We also include a replacement negative cable with integrated IBS sensor, which keeps monitoring happy and in charging in check.

Only tools needed is a 10mm socket.

Open trunk, battery is located behind access cover of passenger taillight

OEM battery location

Remove negative cable first

Remove (2) 10mm bolts holding in holddown bracket

Unplug IBS sensor from battery

Remove 10mm bolt holding battery cleat

Battery cleat removed, set aside

Remove battery vent tube

Remove battery from trunk

Replace OEM negative battery cable with provided IBS-integrated cable

Install Antigravity battery and secure down with battery cleat

Reinstall positive terminal

Reinstall negative terminal

Reconnect IBS sensor plug

Reinstall battery holddown bracket

Reinstall battery

Programming and Registration

After installation is completed, the battery needs to be registered like OEM using AGM/LiFePO4 profiles either through ISTA, your favorite 3rd party device (Bimmercode/Bimmerlink), or BMW independent shop. For the H8-60-RS, choose 70Ah AGM setting while H8-80-RS will require the 80Ah AGM setting. This can be done at your local dealership or independent or as we'll describe shortly - at home using your iPhone.

IMPORTANT: Do not skip these steps or it can damage your battery long term. For the DIY user, you will need the following iOS apps and OBD reader:

Bimmerlink
https://www.bimmerlink.app

Bimmercode
https://bimmercode.app

Veepeak OBDCheck BLE OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner
https://www.amazon.com/Veepeak-OBDCh.../dp/B073XKQQQW

Bimmercode - Select vehicle and go into Front Electronic Module (FEM_01), select "Battery Type"

Bimmercode - Change battery type to "70 Ah AGM"

Bimmerlink - Select 12 V Battery

Bimmerlink - Select "Register New Battery"

Bimmerlink - Select "Same Capacity and Type"

Bimmerlink - Select "ok"

Bimmerlink - Battery registered successfully - you're done!

Job complete! Enjoy your new battery. If you have any questions, please ask in the thread or PM.

Great information and appreciate the testing.

I'm guessing for people who don't have a true winter like us in California, the 60Ah is the recommend and for people who actually get a cold winter, the 80Ah is recommended?

60Ah is plenty is most cases, even in cooler weather.

Very good! This will be my next "mod!"

BTW Tom, how would I know if my battery is going out? There are times where it said something like "increased discharge" but it seems to be working fine.

Lithium life expectancy is 5-7 years, we're beginning to approach the end of that lifespan now. I really like the REstart partition on the AG batteries, which pretty much prevents the need of a jump start if the battery is dead for some odd reason.

Great info and how-to. What would be the recommended battery for a F06 M6 and an F10 550? The jump start partition is a clever solution to a very common problem. The fact that the partition is maintained and ready when you need it is great. I carry a portable battery which has to be put on a charger on occasion to keep it ready. It recently was needed and it wasn't ready because I had been out of town for several months and my wife forgot to bring it in and she ended up having to wait nearly 2 hours for AAA

Same battery for both the F06 & F10. Just make sure the battery type and registration is carried out after installation.

Quick question for Tom: can battery type change/registration be done with Carly for BMW? It has a battery registration feature, not sure about the battery type function, though.

You'll at least need Bimmerlink to change battery type. If Carly offer registration, you can use that to register afterwards.

Any insight on using the popular battery tender options with the new AG offerings? I have the CTEK tender now and would think there are no issues using it on the AG batteries, but wanted to get your input.

Which one? Are you are if it is lithium/LiFePO4-compatible?

From everything I've read, it is designed specifically for Li / LiFePO4 battery charging/maintenance.

Ironically - while searching for the specific CTEK model to link in this post, Google brought me to the AntiGravity site. Turns out, they sell the same charger and indicate it is compatible.

CTEK offers a few different models from what I remember. As long as it says its compatible, you're set.
