What's better? Equal Length AA Midpipe or Normal?

Currently looking at buying one of the two options for AAs midpipe.

What are peoples opinions on which sounds better.

My car currently has AA catless Downpipes and Axel Back muffler on secondary cats left.

Thanks!

Listen to videos of N55/B58 (i.e OG M2) and decide on whether you like that sound better than the normal S55 sound. That should ultimately make the decision for you. If you like N55/B58 then go EL, if you like S55 then go single mid.

Depends how you drive, if you aren't extremely aggressive the EL gives you a smoother sound although less unique than single mid.

If you are very aggressive regularly and get that exhaust super hot than single mid all day.

The S55 even catless, is only raspy during day to day driving. Try hooning in it, after about 5 minutes it is glorious.

Although the issue still stands, the moment you let off of it, goes back to being raspy. I don't think it's worth the effort but it sure is fun to get the car into that beautiful sweet-spot where the rasp is gone.

The issue with the F8X is you have to get them super hot and ready to go for them to be smooth but it isn't impossible as much as people make it out to be

So subjective and you will get 1000 opinions with a near 50/50 split. Both sound better than stock that's for sure so at least you can't go wrong either way. If you go equal length, definitely get the resonates version since you have DPs.

I have the single midpipe and thought about switching to equal length but IMO it wasn't really an upgrade just sounded different.

Why? Sound is subjective, i personally think N55 B55 sound like shit.

W204 Mercs glorious, new Mercs are poop.

Raspy Porsche's are amazing.

Catless DP's add volume and when driving the car super hard the raps is gone, they just need heat.

To each their own i guess but there is nothing objective about anyone ruining their sound with cat-less DP's.

It's all so subjective. If you made this a poll it would result in this:

-Equal length:
(30%)

-Single Mid:
(20%)

-Nothing, this car is a hopeless lawnmower and all these damn millennials with their burbles and knucklehead driving gave me hemroids:
(50%)

Personally, I got a killer deal here on the forums for a AA single midpipe, unplugged my valves and I love how it sounds. Non-zcp and stock regardless. However, the guy I bought it from said he was selling it to get the new equal length pipe so who knows. Personally I don't think the sound difference is worth the cost at all but that's all opinion.

I have the AA single midpipe and I very much enjoy it. Brings both sides together to give it more of an equal 6 cylinder type sound rather than split into two 3 cylinders like the stock sounds. Having said that, I have not heard the equal length in person but online it also sounds good. Don't think you can go wrong with either.
