And don't count BMW out of the larger displacement category just yet. There are rumors that they will downsize the V8 to 4L in its next iteration in order to be more consistent with the N74 6L V12 (with which it shares a bore center and bore size, but not stroke). |

I didn't say "popular"....Fiat is popular. I said, (being spanish) that they love (tons of friends and family) Camaros, Corvettes, etc.... Also, Ford does really well in Europe, especially France, Spain, England and Germany.

![]() Let us all wait for the final version ... the ///M Division right now is testing every aspect of this new M3/M4 and if we reflect back into history in the end it always turned out better then the previous car (some people take exception to this I'm sure) for most of us anyway ![]() So let us just wait and see ...

Can't say I like the sound but I doubt that will be the final tuning. BMW will spend many hours working on getting a sound that is more representative of the image they want to convey. They are famous for their obsession with the details.

As for the comparison to a mini-F10 M5 by another poster, I doubt it will feel too much like one given that it'll weigh close to 1,000lbs less. The M5 is a great car and I still miss mine (E60), but it's always had a noticeably different slant to the M3. |

I test drove the new M5 the other day. It is better looking, more comfortable, more tech, and nicer in every way than my E63 M6. Except it was DULL to drive. NO sound in or outside
![]() I drove away in my outdated M6 with Tubi exhausts and was grinning ear to ear. I will be looking for another brand after my M6. I don't need more power. Its about the overall driving experience. I'll be saving up for a Panamera GTS or 991 when it falls in my budget.

E46 M3 & E92 M are both great sounding cars. I'm sure the F80 will not disappoint as well. Don't be too quick to judge guys.

LOL @ 00:43 and the AMG turbo whining away. The A45 AMG is absolutely insane.
F80 is sounding decent actually, although as with all turbos which rely mainly on exhaust for noise, you won't hear much action on approach, since turbo BMWs make almost no noise on rev-match downshifting. Load only. Always a disappointment for me, but performance wise it looks to be quick. For you late model E90 M3 owners... best to hang on for a while.

4 doors option better fuel economy turbo engine which will get more fun to drive in 90% of everyday driving Last edited by antzcrashing; 04-21-2013 at 08:39 PM.. |
