well my wife's 2017 X5 has this little plastic film protector that came with the car since she bought it, she never took it off and thus has 0 fingerprints
Isn't that like leaving the plastic on the couch?
Just my like my grandparents did with the couch...

haHA! Mines individual!

Sure, it might look like a big white ding-dong, but it's a leather ding-dong.

Can you share a photo? I'm curious what the visible differences are.

You can FDL Code that functionality back in. In FEM_BODY ECU set PARKLICHT_MOEGLICH to Aktiv.

I'm afraid I can't as I haven't taken delivery of my car yet. I was made aware of it when I ordered the new car and the salesman showed me the bulletin.

Looks like they also removed the single USB port just below the H-Vac in front. Also perhaps filled in a small gap in dash on driver side between the door and the dash.

I'm curious if they improved the rear brake debris plate to make it less likely a rock gets stuck and any oil cooler protection besides the original plastic one.

Good thread as I'm debating getting a used 2015 M3 with 40k miles on it

If you're talking about the brake rotor shields I checked out a '18 up close right next to my car and they are the updated shields. Much smaller space in there now and much tighter opening between the rotor and the shield. This is the #1 thing about my '15 that irks me as get rocks all the time (OK maybe 1-2 a month). Bent them, pushed them, bent them back, nothing helps . I've had so many people tell me that something is wrong with my car when I park and a rock is stuck...I just tell them its a feature. M3 is so angry it doesn't need oil to run, metal on metal baby! I happen to live in a state with a lot of cinders/rocks...

Hopefully the updated shields work better. Or if something does get stuck in there its going to be much more difficult to get it out!

Yep, that's it, but know what year was the other car?

Mine is a 2015, was next to a 2018, definitely upgraded rotor shields in back, didn't check fronts as never had a problem with a rock in the front...

I can't believe you guys with ID5 and ID6 aren't taking advantage of the new voice commands. Its like OK Google. Just tell it what to do and it actually understands you pretty well. No comment on Siri, that bitch is stupid lol

Forgot my contribution. Going from 2015-16 to 2017, it looks like BMW dropped the elastic band in the trunk that was nice for holding a towel or spray bottle of quick detailer.

Correct. I miss that in 2017 M3 as I used the band in 2015 for wine bottles.

Did anybody noticed the hood over-slam bumper (aka hood adjuster) is gone on 2017MY and up? Its the little rubber bumper right between the CF brace/boomerang and the BMW Roundel. See picture below, top pic has the hood adjuster, bottom pic does not. BMW cost savings....or I guess you can look at this as an unpublished upgrade due to weight loss. LOL.

Added a diagram from GetBMWparts.com to clarify which component I am talking about. Item #2 below.

Not sure what you mean but on my 2017 M4 I had to slap the hood really hard to close it I didn't like that. I was afraid to open it on my new 2018 just because I don't wanna give it a beating while closing the damn thing
