Brake Pad Wear Sensor Question

If I don't connect the brake pad wear sensors to the pads, and just zip-tie them up out of the way, will that cause any issues, and/or trip any warnings?

As pointed above, no.
However if you disconnect the sensor cable altogether from the car (i.e. Both ends) it will throw a service brakes message.

Ok, that makes sense. Don't disconnect from car, just don't attach them to the pads. And zip-tie them out of the way so they don't get damaged or caught on anything.

An open circuit will trigger the alarm.

When the sensor tips wear off, it cuts the wire inside opening the circuit and triggering the alarm. Same thing if you disconnect the sensors altogether, it opens the circuit. That is why worn sensors need to be replaced to reset the alarm.

If you have worn sensors at your disposal, you can cut the wire near the connector, splice them and twist them together to close the circuit. It allows you to reset the alarm without having to buy new sensors .

Makes me think: does anyone sell "brake-sensor-delete" plugs that just plug into the sensor connection and silence it? I know that zip tying away is not too difficult, but for those folks that never ever plug them back into the pads, why not offer a neat and tidy solution? Must be really cheap to produce.

The solution I posted above is a DIY for such a plug
