M2 here. I played around with the 4series configurator and it looked booooring. I will still hold out to see it in person though.

F80 for me, I need 4 doors. I love my E90 M3, it's truly a remarkable sedan and pretty much perfect but I like a change after a few years and is both excited and concerned about the F80. I don't expect it to be better than the E90 but something different and still very, very good unless the steering is junk like the other BMW EPS systems.

I wont be ready for another car for a few years, as i just got a M3. but i will be keeping a close eye for the M4/M3. I will most likely love the new look, but hate the sound of the next 6 cylinder engine coming from a M v8.

I'm getting the M4 as soon as it comes out. Love the M3, but I look forward to the next generation of M. Now, if they would just come out with official details and end all of this speculation.

I'm waiting for it. doubt it will be right when they come out. i was thinking about ordering one a few years after they come out so it could be refined. Have to graduate from the E82 to the F82.

I was going to get a M3 but I'm holding out for a M4. I don't like the looks of a sedan and I have a hard time getting in and out of the 3 series sedan anyway. The B pillar is on my shoulder when I have the seat where I want it and I'm only 5' 10".

That being said, if the M4 is over priced or the engine is boring, I'm going to a Cayman.

Wow!! Nice too see the old girl still rocking after all those miles. I have 90k on my E92 M and I'm waiting to see how the new M4/M3 turns out. I'll be in the market for one of them. Not sure what the latest is on their release date but at the latest I'd like to be in one by early 2015...if not sooner.

I'm waiting for the M4. I really hope look wise they do something better than the 435 M sport as I found it boring too. If not I might just go M5.

I am waiting for the new M4 to come out but I certainly wont be buying the 1st year. Probably the 2nd or 3rd year.

Now seeing all the new M3/M4 spottings on the strip in Vegas seems like the BMW test engineers are spending more time gambling than testing. So I'll definitely wait for the 2rd or 3rd year.

The Macan is on my list should the F80 dissapoint. We have a 2013 Cayenne and a smaller, lighter and tighter version should be good. If the Pajun was coming sooner it would be on top of my list but it is still a few years out. The M5 is way too big and heavy for my taste and the 2-series is likely too small for a family of four and I suspect quality of materials will be on the low end.

Really agree with you on the 4 series. Withholding judgement until the M4 is revealed but doubt I'll get one.

My E46 has been nothing but good to me. It was a 4/02 build, which was about a year after the E46 was introduced and in the window (3/01 to 11/02, I believe) when all the s54s were blowing up. I thought BMW did a nice job responding to all the problems, which is why I feel good about buying early once the F82 is out. I will miss the high reving NA engine, but the world is moving on. The F82 is gonna be a great car.

I was thinking about waiting, but I think I am gonna go with the new F10 with competition package added. I haven't read anything that sounds too spectacular about the new M4 and the 4 series just looks boring...I love my E92 M3 coupe, but unless there's something revolutionary about the new M4 I am going with a the '14 F10 M5.

I still think that the E46 M is the best looking M3...the proportions to me are just spot on. I had a 2004 model that I picked up second hand and drove it for two years before I got my current E92. Mine was the 16th car delivered here and other that replacing my steering pump, and the stupid seat belt presenter (twice) it's been trouble free. I was worried about getting a first year car but I think reliability is drastically better now.

Maybe the M engineers know something we don't and that the upcoming M3/M4 are a sure bet and they have to get some gambling in while in Nevada
