The DCT is much more suited to the M5 , M6 and M6 Gran Coupe.
BMW M5 mit Competition pack and M DCT is a true beast of a car.

Somewhat agreed and I have a MT M5. I wanted/want a MT sedan and it was an older M3, 335, the upcoming M3, or dare I say an S4?

If I get an M4 to park next to my M5, it would be a very tough decision to get DCT or a 6MT. My M5 is a DCT, but I already have a Fiat Abarth 5MT that fulfills my Manual Tranny fix and boy is it a blast in that little 2,400lbs car! M4 would have to be a dedicated track car for me.

Today I was in Munich and also saw(and heard!) two M3's and one M4 test cars. They really sound good!

I also saw the most i-cars I have ever seen in one day! I think I saw seven i8's(at different times thru out the day) and about five i3's. A few of the i3's did not have any camo on them. Seems to me BMW is cranking up the R&D testing on these cars.

i swear america is the only place left in the world where MT is something to get excited about...

it's a chore, plain and simple..

everywhere bar the USA a MT is just associated with low-end, low-spec cars that the original owner was too tight to check the an AT box on

it's now just turning into a cultural thing, and US is the last bastion where it's 'cool' to own a manual... it's distinctly uncool round my neck of the woods that's for sure!

Sound was both good and bad on those vids. From start it sounded strange, but when accelerating it reminded me about E46 M3...

the only reason they should not offer a manual is so that we can stop having DCT vs. MT threads.

or....

if it the other way around? we NEED these threads to continue.

With everything going to Dual clutch only this has potential to be one of the last epic Manual cars. This and the 991C2S

Very much, it seems to be a badge of honour "I can drive a manual" like it means they are a driving god
Not just someone who can drive a car, like it is over here.

The US is just different. We like MTs and other controversial things. In the end at least we get a choice.

I can't believe I see posts like the above on a enthusiasts car forum.

You are missing the point my friend, no better feeling than taking my M3 out on some windy roads and shifting gears myself.

I wonder if these are the same clowns who said that a V8 or larger engine can be fitted into the i8? It can't.
What about a V6 derived from the B38?
