The E46 is timeless, one if the best looking modern M's IMO.

F82 is stunning also, the hood line does stick out with the yellow color, but hopefully with the production version they can get the panel gaps tighter, if so it would be barely noticeable.

Honest opinions on styling from an E92 M3 owner who won't be buying the F82... but will be most likely be buying the F80 next year.

1. The hood bulge is better integrated on the F82 (and E46) than the E92.
2. The rear bumper is fussy on the F82 compared to the other two.
3. I still think the E46 M3 has the best wheel arches of the three.
4. The E46 is looking old, but like a stock E39 M5, it'll always look special.
5. I may stand alone on not liking the concepts front lip. I never like them tbh.
6. The side vents are so much better than on the regular 4-Series.
7. The F82 has re-added some of the E46M bulldog look the E92 slightly lacks.
8. I'd rather the hood cut line wasn't there, but it's no big deal to me.

I don't know guys... I love the E46 and E92... but I'm not a fan of the Concept so far. Aesthetically at least. I just don't have that wow that I had the first time that I saw an E92 haul ass past me. Which then started me down a 4 year journey to owning my own. I'm going to reserve my lust for when I see this thing in real life...

looking at the dimension stats, i keep coming back to the fact the F82 is shorter than the previous two generations. I think in person it is going to look low wide and mean. just perfect for my taste

I think the F82 looks really good. A couple of things that bother me...

1) I think the rear end looks very similar to a Lexus IS-F (and I really despise Toyotas)
2) The front bumper/grilles/lip etc look really good, but for modders it will be interesting to see what people do. And it looks really low already, so anyone who tries to lower it more will be in trouble. Interested to see what a base model front bumper will look like or if this will be a standard bumper (doubtful)
3) Obviously it needs to lose the 6 series wheels...and Im sure it will.
4) Im looking forward to seeing it in a normal color. I know some people love phoenix yellow (aurum dust) but I am not a fan. Looks like aged piss.

Its basically just the normal evolution of a car over the years. E46 will always be a special car in most M owner's hearts very similar to E30. E92 was very different (not necessarily better or worse, just different). Not sure if F82 will hold the same significance that the E46 and E30 held in people's hearts, but I guess time will tell.

Full disclosure... E92 owner and will probably own both F82 and E92 within a few years.

I'd take all three.. They will all handle a road course fantastically and each has their own distinct engine (FI6, V8, I6). Look wise you can't go wrong either, although the M4 concept is looking the best in my eyes. It looks like it should come from the factory, not needing any aesthetic mods to make it look "better".

Is it just me or does the Phoenix Yellow on the E46 look very different from the Phoenix Yellow on the E92?

Just noticed in the dimensions listed that the M4 is both lower and wider than both M3s.

This thing is going to look so sleek on the road! Great comparo thanks.

Just great indeed

Now, if possible, the dimensions in the metric system, that would make it perfect

The F10 M5 has the same thing. Even the new Mercedes E350 has this line. Which tells me this has something to do with European pedestrian impact laws of some sort. I guess you cannot have the metal hood go all the way down which in these cars they prematurely stop. Which I agree is ugly.

If I'm not mistaken, I remember Scott26 saying that those are going to be the standard production wheels, with another new design available. They are very similar to the m6 wheels from a distance.

I love the competition package wheels that are on the e9x and e46 M3.

Hope they bring these wheels back to the M4/M3.

M4 looks more aggressive. Also looks like the best looking M3 in the history. Cant wait to trade my IS for this. Lets home drives better and faster than e92m.
