Cool color, but I don't think it works on a plain stock car. A plain stock M might be another story

I ordered mine today and went with YMB. I heard from someone who has seen the color in person and he said it was lighter than LSB and with the metallic looks great in "real life".

I prefer blue colors and usually go with darker blues (Imperial, Interlagos, Deep Sea) and even LeMans - so I'm hopeful that I like YMB as well since it's quite a bit lighter.

Another theory to consider is that BMW had to go to extremes with the colors because the body panels are relatively conservative styling wise. The only aggressive styling cues are the side gills, front bumper and rear diffusor. Maybe they need bold colors to hide an otherwise boring styling. That would also explain the return of yellow.

I'm pro-blue as well, but Sahkir Orange is my first choice.

I guess the e9x m3 was very boring to you.

I was told by NYC's Top Architect and Interior Designer, whom I consider a very legitimate specialist in color coordination (paint etc.,),- all Blue Colors are actually shades of Gray.
Most obvious Blues, under certain light conditions, do appear Gray. A Lighter Shade of Blue, in dim light may indeed appear Gray and vice versa, Gray can appear Blue...

Unfortunately, your interior designer friend is not correct according to physics. What most consider "blue" is light in the range of 450–495nm in wavelength.

Pure gray is a shade between black and white and has no color associated, it's achromatic. It's created on an RGB device by mixing equal amounts of red, green, and blue. It is possible to adjust the gray of course. Some blue added creates a "cold" gray, or add some red to create a "warm" gray.

I'm right there with you.

Considering blue is my favorite color, and I appreciate it in many shades, I find it disappointing that the only standard blue color this car comes in is one I find pretty hideous.

It's smurf-tastic. I think it would work better on a coupe.

That color only works on the aggressive styled M. The 320d looks pretty weak in that power blue.

Lemans is as light as I would go...

I still think estoril is better but on the verge of somewhat feminine blue

The color that looks amazing on the F30 w m sport trim is Singapore grey

Maybe this color looks good in the sun but I'm curious as the green they will offer

I prefer tiag then ssii then glacier but wonder if pure silver would be avail

I'm going to hold off making a determination until I see it in person as colors like this are notorious for being impossible to photograph accurately.

It is curious as to why BMW would use this new color as opposed to just bringing back Laguna Seca.

BMW must think Yas Marina will sell better than Laguna Seca would?

At least people will now stop calling Santorini/Laguna Seca; "Smurf Blue".

Keep the color for the stang.. it might look good on the M4 but other than that, it looks out of place on the 3/4er

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!
