I'd bought those performance parts OEM and changed the silver trim to CF and reinstalled it. I hate alcantara too and could tell you from experience, that it would be unnecessary to remove the dash trim with i/Drive to access the base plate. Just insert a small slotted screwdriver carefully at the 6o'clock position and put a piece of paper or other kind under it before you start to move the tool as a lever to lift to avoid scratches. Alternatively a more solid plastic pry tool and proceed.
