Xpel Ultimate Plus $1,500 for full nose, entire hood, full roof, front fenders and side views. Was about to get the OEM rear arches removed and extended, but purchased large TLG mud flaps and I see no need now.
I did this PPF late in the game at 37K and although the car was fully corrected by a shop prior to the install, they did warn me about nicks and dings on the nose and hood possibly standing out more. Still totally worth it because I can drive anywhere and not worry about it. |

I looked at an Exige recently with complete PPF that was applied maybe 5-6 years ago. It was starting to fail and you can tell where someone decided to pick at it and gave up. A detailer can probably remove it but I'd be afraid of the film taking paint with it. |

Have my entire car XPEL'd. Costs close to 6.5k.
Very pricey but worth the peace of mind, especially in a snowy area like here in the NE. I'd do it again in a heartbeat if it's a car I own and expect to keep for quite awhile.

I got my whole car done as well. I had it done over time. Car still looks amazing after 2 years. Regretfully I had to have it done by two different shops. The first one in pensacola and the second in san antonio at the the corporate shop.
The first shop was independent and did an amazing job. All seams were wrapped and it was difficult to tell the car was wrapped. Even at the corporate location the manager had a hard time spotting it. The corporate location was able to get it done faster and much cheaper but the coverage wasn't nearly as invisible. Would i do it again? Very much so. |

I did high impact areas/full frontal with mirror caps and ultimately regretted it. Either do the whole thing or go none imo.
Don't get me wrong, the PPF/xpel works great but if you don't do the full car/every panel, you don't get the full experience and ultimately only avoid chipping on the front bumper which is mostly grilles/intakes to start. The leading edge of the carbon roof is still exposed, un-PPF'd panels can still swirl with a bad wash (trunk lid, doors, etc), and side skirts (F82)/rear fenders (F80) can still get chipped with a single run over spilled gravel on the highway so the pain of less than perfect paint will still irk you. It helps but I feel silly for paying 2k and still being annoyed with sideskirt rock chips and minor swirling. YMMV |

I did whole car but there are several factors:
- own or lease? I own but would have 2nd thoughts on a lease - car flipper? I plan on keeping this car a while. If you flip cars every 1-2 yrs, not sure it makes sense, esp full car vs front bits - indiv color? I have indiv color (avus). Probably not good psychology but I figure I paid 5k for paint, might as well pay more to protect it (resale or otherwise) - when to ppf? I did mine as soon as car was delivered new. The longer you go, the less I see the point. - road quality? I live in tristate area and it's like a sandblaster. - winter driven? I drive year round - able to hand wash yourself often? I don't have access to wash myself and sometimes have to wait between washes or go to random hand wash places. - OCD? Self-explanatory

if the car is a lease I wouldn't care. just turn it in at the end. use some dr. colorchip with a toothpick if you want to cover up the glaring chips.
PPF if you have an individual or frozen color, or if you drive a lot like OP. 30k miles in the northeast will destroy most cars (why I never buy cars from the NE). Even then... for 5-6k you could pick up a beater car and drive that in the winter. probably a better investment. and you will keep miles down on the M.

I’ll add that my E46 M3 with 53K miles had lots of chips on the front bumper, hood and fender. I think covering those is sufficient. I also don’t care AS much about chips in general but having an individual color (and only 2400 miles) did make me think twice and get the front done. $1500 is easier to swallow than $4K+ for the full car

PPF is only worth it if you plan on keeping the car long term.
It adds absolutely no extra value to the the car at resale, trust me i tried selling my M3 (but decided to hold) and buyers didn't care for it. Paid around $8K cad for Xpel Ultimate, and regret it. Will only do front end and high impact areas later on. |

My entire car was wrapped by previous owner at <3k miles (that's when I bought it) and the job is ultra high end. The the entire car (except CF roof) is covered..... everything, and the fit and finish of the film is amazing.
My car is black and it's simply amazing. Zero chips, zero swirls. This is my first experience with wraps and at first I was unsure but now I'm totally sold on it. Money aside, it's 100% way better than without. Would I spend 5k? No. Probably just do the high exposure areas and be done if I were paying for this. I also see less value with light colored cars vs dark.

First thing I did was respray bumper & Suvneer CS hood, PPF and ceramic coating impact areas including carbon roof full hood headlights side skirts front bumper and rear fender flares ceramic coated rear tire car wheels and brake calipers. Makes the color really pop and easy cleaning.[IMG][/IMG]

What's the life on the newer PPFs before they start yellowing or getting brittle? Definitely not a permanent solution but can it last the life of the vehicle? 1/2 the life?
FWIW I didn't PPF but wish I had, at least the front. |

Good ones like Xpel and SunTek have 10 year warranties. Whether or not you see yellowing depends on car color. Count on seeing it within a few years if you have a white car unless you are meticulous about cleaning and sealing it frequently.

I am planning to do it as well but it is extremely expensive. and if I have to respray as my paint is already fked up. planning to turn my austin yellow into speed yellow and then ppf. however that seems expensive.. also mine is 2014 at 77500 miles, so really dont know does it worth.
