Interesting, my dad specifically got non-ZCP on his March 20 F82 build to retain lumbar seats. I guess now only lumbar is available on F83

The issue with canceling is, if I do that, I might lose my $1000 deposit on the 2020 that just went into production. I signed a dealer form stating no refund (which I never do) figuring that there was no way I would cancel this order. The car literally went into production today so it's a May build which wouldn't count for the July "changes". I went online to the configurator for shit and giggles just to see if the ZCP was still and option and it is. I wonder if BMW will just increase the base price to account for the ZCP being standard. My wife brought up a Good point earlier today when I got pissed that BMW isn't gonna give away $4700 worth of options for free. Maybe they are? |

Hope everything works out at the end for you.
But unfortunately, sometimes being an enthusiast on this forum can be a downfall - you learn things that are not quite public knowledge or learn of information way ahead of time. Despite what people think, dealerships do not have the level of information we, users of this forum, think they have. You think the dealership hid these releases from you but I can guarantee that they really didn't know, or did not know enough to act on and give you a more informed decision. While this information is not for RoW and is region specific, I can promise that the dealership I work closely with for purchases does not have as much of a hint of any of these changes. They might know that BMW might be simplifying packages, but they do not have a clear idea of what is included and the pricing to inform the customer. Best they could do is say wait it out. As a customer, if you really wanted a car and already had your mind made up of the options, are you really going to wait? Most are going to pull the trigger. |

I'm happy with the car I ordered as it has every option I want. There isn't another car out there right now that checks all my boxes like the ///M4 does. Sporty, Fast, Fun to drive, 2 doors with room for my wife and son, German, RWD, decent tech. I'm sure there are a few more things I'm missing. |

But with that said, as far as price goes, I don't think you'll be missing out on any "package discounts" if there are any. The M2 Competition got a bunch of stuff standard that were options on the base M2 BMW increased the price by about +/- $6,000 here in Canada. Assuming the July production of the MY2020 M4 will be similar, I don't think any one is going to be paying any sort of premium for buying today vs. getting a July allocation. If this were a special edition, that would be a different story as I think BMW bundles everything on those cars at a discount - at least that's how it was for the 30 Jahre M3 and M5 where you only win if you were to add those options to begin with. |

I don't think it is as bad as you, but it isn't great that's for sure. But then again no stock system really is nowadays. |

I’m not sure how to feel about this - I mean the vast majority of customers do enjoy the ZCP but I’m one of the few who prefer the F82 stock/non-ZCP due to price, 19" silver wheels, lack of black trim, lumbar support, etc.
I was seriously considering an F82 because of the slowly confirming rumors of the G80/G82 having awful large grills but now who knows. Dammit BMW this is super annoying… |

I highly doubt that BMW NA is going to give the ZCP away as a 'free' option. Expect a few thousand price increase, otherwise the used ZCP car market would take a hit, including the MY 2017 and shortly MY 2018 ZCP's would put BMW FS underwater with these models coming off lease, as the residuals would be over inflated.
Pricing hasn't been announced for any of today's changes across the BMW NA model portfolio. ///M4ster Yoda I wouldn't worry to much about it, as we can't win all the battles, just enjoy the new F82.

When is the F82 going out of production? I turn in my non-ZCP lease in December 2020 and really want to get a new ZCP F82, but I'm not sure if there will be any left at that time.

End of production for F82 is June, 2020 (M4 CS ends in Feb). F83 ends Oct, 2020.

The simple fact is .. after selling Adaptive suspension as an upgrade .. they are simply making it a no cost option. We've seen this a ton, Even items like sunroof/moonroof become a no cost option or another example is lighting technology with HID, LED, and even OLED trickling down. More than likely , rather than buying two suspension systems from suppliers .. they simply discontinued ordering the non adaptive set. With this change to the M4 .. I would expect BMW to likely use their remaining non adaptive stock on M2 until they run out . At that point a running change on the M2 (beginning with M2 CS ?) could occur to phase out the non adaptive stock and they can then announce adaptive only for all M2 as a "2020 model update " cool: It appears LCI has been replaced by model updates... back in the day it would be 2019 and 2019.5 models. |
