[HELP] F83 Convertible Top / Roof Leak (Bad Seal?)

Hi all,

I just picked up a 2016 F83 M4 6MT with 65k miles on Monday, drove it 550 miles back home flawlessly, and have unfortunately discovered several issues since.

One of the issues is that it seems there is a leak between the middle part of the folding roof and the back part. I am hoping someone on here has experienced similar issues. The leak is exactly in the same spot as these posts, but I'm not sure it's coming from the same area.

My leak appears to be coming from this gap:

In the last photo, are those two seals supposed to line up? I have circled them in red. It looks like the driver's side seal is misaligned compared to the passenger side.

I really appreciate any and all help, as I desperately do not want to spend $1000 on the roof seal which I believe is part #54377415365

I was considering using some windscreen adhesive as this person did on their E93:

Thanks!

Damn that’s pretty bad! I’d clean and lube first

I have a 2015, and while I'm not having any leaking, the rubber has begun to disintegrate at the very top, horizontal portion of seal #3. Went to the dealer yesterday to enquire about that specific piece and was told it was $873! Was then informed that the December deals will be coming out soon, and that I can save 10-15% on parts, so yay! Ugh. Having a very hard time finding an aftermarket F83 back window seal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My quote was $1100 for the seal alone with no labor

I also haven't been able to find a single after market seal maybe you and I should go into business making them.. lol

I also called Edscha as well as FCPEuro to see if they could source the part but had no luck because Edscha sells the whole roof to BMW in one part, i think?

I really hope it magically gets better, but for now my solution is to cover the car when it rains. Pretty disappointing.

The water leaks from these hard top seals are very complex and difficult to remedy. I would bring it to a dealer and have their "convertible top guy" give you an estimate.
Be ready to spend $$ if u want it fixed right.

Bringing the vehicle to a local BMW shop next week for a full workup. Will let you know how it goes, and what it costs to repair.
