Gates innovations digital key update?

I recently bought a 2016 f80 m3 with a gates innovations digital key. However I think it’s on a older software version. Does anyone know how to update the key?

They did actually do key upgrades and I bought the X5M key then later the digital key. Then my digital key stopped working and I shipped it back to Gates for warranty replacement and then they never replied again.

Basically took one of my keys and never was able to get it back. Out of pocket cost for X5M key, digital key and a OEM BMW key.

Not sure what happened to them as they used to have fast reply and good customer service and post covid they went radio silent. I would advise against using Gates now.
