Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet - Check out Proclip.com. It attaches anywhere across the area where the front vents are located. You can have charging capability, or none.

I'm using the one listed for the F30 3-series because they don't have F80 M3 listed. It fits perfectly fine since the interiors are identical (even though my full leather is a bit more bulky). I believe the 4-series/M4 mount are the same as well. You'll have to check with them if they make RHD versions though.

Works really good for my purposes and allows plenty of room for placement/adjustment. Best part is its solid and doens't budge!
Does the scosche mount use double sided tape to attach the mount to the panel of the interior?

Yes, albeit very thin 3M DS tape. Very strong. Hasn't come off yet.

if you don't mind sticking something on the windshield then check out ram mount. They make some pretty good stuff too.

ditto...I plagiarized this one. <$15 on Amazon and cheaper if you can find one from amazon warehouse deals. I think I got mine for just over $10 in very good condition. Just came with a mashed up box but everything was still in plastic.

whoops, guess pics didn't get into the quote. Here is the link:amazon linkage

The Kuda mount looks nice, but puts the phone really low and out of your line of vision which doesn't seem ideal.

I have this one and really like it. I have the plate under my case so you can't see it at all and it holds super strong. Plus it finally gives the CD slot purpose again!

Most of you must not have phones with wireless charging.

I find it crazy, that BMW offers wireless charging that is not compatible with the iPhone, but also offers Apple Car Play.

Agreed. Their wireless charging set up is completely useless with the way people use phones in their cars today. Maybe it would have been fine 10 years ago when people didn't actually use them in their cars for anything and just charging them would have been helpful. There are also other upper end manufacturers like Cadillac who are offering Android Auto.

It also doesn't help that Apple doesn't support wireless charging so I understand why a car manufacturer wouldn't spend a lot of R&D money or time on it. I do agree the wireless charging in the car is basically useless and only takes up valuable console space.

At least they gave us a USB port that is near where the phone actually is lol

I think he meant how ironic is it that BMW offers wireless charging when no iPhones support it, yet they offer Apple CarPlay.

But I hear what you're saying, everyone pretty much uses their phone while driving anyways so how could you just dock it just to charge.

A better setup would be to offer both CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless charging should be included regardless. I'm sure Apple will eventually reinvent it somehow on the iPhone 8 and call it iWirelessMagicalCharging and all the iPhone people will start raving about how great it is to charge wireless with magic.

Yes. I think I'd originally intended to agree with your first paragraph but somehow it never actually made it out of my fingers. I don't know why Apple is dragging their feet with the wireless charging and rapid charging. Having had it on my last 3 phones I wouldn't get another phone without it. I don't know who at BMW thought that their wireless charging design was actually a solution to anything useful these days.

So I don't like covering up my AC vents. I don't like taking up my cup holders. I don't like sticking stuff to my windshield. One of the stick on magnetic holders was doing well but it keeps coming off, replace the double sided sticky tape and it only lasts a few weeks with the heavier phones...

I don't mind the CD cradle thing but it feels bulky and again blocks controls.

So I'm looking at Kuda again. But something funky is going on with their website. Every time I go to kudausa.com it asks me to login which I don't have a login for so the access is restricted.

This is the best product i've used. The adhesive is very strong so long as you stick it on the glossy bar just underneath the air vents. The magnet is also very strong and will not fall off during turns or hard accelerations. My main gripe is having to stick a silver metal ring the size of a lifesaver onto the back of the case.

Kuda with Scosche Magic Mount is the way to go, in my opinion. Adding a coiled charging cable and plugging it in under the glove compartment completes the setup nicely.

Same for me. Looks like you can still get them via eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/KUDA-CELL-P...item54592bd2f7
